Al-Shabab Club ( ar, نادي الشباب) is a Bahraini football club based in Jidhafs. They used to play in the top division of Bahraini football. They share the Bahrain National Stadium with other clubs. Al-Shabab Football Club ( ar, نادي الشباب), or The Youth Football Club, in English, is a Saudi Arabian professional association football, football club based in Riyadh. It was founded in 1947, and was at first named ''Shabab Al Riyadh''. (), meaning Riyadhi Youth, but in 1967 was renamed ''Al Shabab''. History Al Shabab was the First football club in Riyadh. The club began before 1947, with many conflicts before with its numerous members, but it was settled in 1947 and Abdulrahman Bin Saeed was the president. Five years later, Al Shabab won its first tournament beating Sakit Al Hadeed (Railway Club) in Riyadh. Three years later, in 1955 Al Shabab beat the Military College to win the King Saud Cup. The Bahraini Premier League is the main football competition in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Currently known as the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League, the first season was held in 1957. The winners of the domestic championship qualify for the AFC Cup. The championship is currently contested by 12 clubs. Structure Current structure 12 clubs currently play a two round robin set of fixtures totaling 22 games in order to determine the league champions. Although games are played on a home and away basis, almost all games are played at the National Stadium. The eleventh and twelfth-placed clubs are relegated with the ninth and tenth enter the relegation play-offs. Jidhafs ( ar, جدحفص, Jid Ḥafṣ) is a city in Bahrain. It was a municipality of Bahrain in the northern part of the country. Its territory is now in the Capital and Northern Governorate. Hakeem Al-Araibi
Hakeem al-Araibi ( ar, حكيم العريبي; born 7 November 1993) is an Australian footballer of Bahraini descent who currently plays for St Albans Saints in NPL Victoria. He is a dissident, who fled to Australia in 2014 and subsequently gained Australian citizenship in March 2019. He was arrested on arrival in Thailand from Australia for a vacation in November 2018 on the basis of an Interpol "red notice" issued by Bahrain, and was held there pending deportation to Bahrain, which he opposed. There was a campaign urging Thailand not to extradite him until 11 February 2019, when the Thai Office of the Attorney-General dropped the extradition case against him at Bahrain's request. He was returned to Australia the next day and became an Australian citizen in the weeks thereafter.
