Aksu (Pavlodar Region)
Aksu ( kz, Ақсу, ''Aqsu''), literally meaning ''the white river'', formerly known as ''Yermak'' (russian: italic=yes, Ермак, until 1993), is a city in Pavlodar Region, Kazakhstan. The population of the municipal area is and the population of the town Geography Aksu is located to the south of Pavlodar, the administrative center of the region. The city lies on the left bank of the Irtysh River. The territory of the Aksu City Administration borders Aktogay District in the north, Bayanaul District, May District and Akkuly District in the south, Pavlodar District in the west, and the Ekibastuz City Administration in the east. Lake Altybaysor is located within the Aksu municipal limits. History The history of former Yermak is related to discovery of coal deposits in the vicinity of Ekibastuz. Ekibastuz
Ekibastuz ( kk, Екібастұз, translit=Ekıbastūz, , ەكئباستۇز; russian: Экибастуз) is a city in Pavlodar Region, northeastern Kazakhstan. The population was Ekibastuz is served by Ekibastuz Airport. History The history of Ekibastuz begins in the 19th century, when Kosym Pshembayev, a native Kazakh who was commissioned by Russian merchants to look for mineral resources in that region, alighted on a coal field southeast of Pavlodar. The commercial exploitation of the field started soon after. The field afterwards was sold to a British businessman, Leslie Urquhart. The village of Ekibastuz was established in 1899, named after the nearby lake of the same name, which means 2 heads of salt in Kazakh (''eki'' 'two' + ''bas'' 'head' + ''tuz'' 'salt'). Imanbek Maratuly Zeikenov ( kk, Иманбек Маратұлы Зейкенов, İmanbek Maratūly Zeikenov; born 21 October 2000), known mononymously as Imanbek, is a Kazakh electronic dance music record producer. In 2019, he became known for his remix of Saint Jhn's "Roses". In 2021, Imanbek won a Grammy for his remix of "Roses", becoming the first Grammy recipient from Kazakhstan, and the first Grammy award winner in a non-classical category from within the CIS. Career Born in Kazakhstan, he comes from the town of Aksu and has played the guitar since the age of 8. He studied and worked in rail transport (at one point he worked at the Aksu railway station), but has been engaged in music production since 2017. An ungraded school is a school that does not formally organize students according to age-based grade levels. Students' achievements are assessed by teachers, and each student is individually assigned to one of several fluid groups, according to what the student needs to learn next. An anabranch is a section of a river or stream that diverts from the main channel or stem of the watercourse and rejoins the main stem downstream. Local anabranches can be the result of small islands in the watercourse. In larger anabranches, the flow can diverge for a distance of several kilometers before rejoining the main channel. The Irtysh–Karaganda Canal ( kz, Ертіс-Қарағанды каналы, ''Ertıs-Qarağandy kanaly''; russian: Канал Иртыш — Караганда) is an irrigation canal in Kazakhstan. It connects the Irtysh River with Karaganda (Qaraghandy), a major industrial center in north-central Kazakhstan. After Kazakhstan's independence, the canal was officially renamed as the Kanysh Satpayev Canal (russian: Канал имени Каныша Сатпаева) after the Kazakh geologist Kanysh Satpayev.
