Aksel Hagen
Aksel Hagen is a Norwegian politician and member of the Storting, representing the Socialist Left Party (SV) in the county of Oppland. He was elected to parliament following the 2009 parliamentary election by winning Oppland's leveling seat. He sits on the Standing Committee on Education, Research and Church Affairs. (Stortinget's biography) Hagen has a doctoral degree from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. He was a member of the Lillehammer municipality council between 1991 and 2003, deputy county mayor of Oppland from 2003 to 2007, and a member of the Oppland county council from 2007 until his election to parliament. Hagen was deputy leader of SV's local Oppland chapter between 1998 and 2000, before become the chapter's leader between 2000 and 2004. Hagen is cohabitant with Turid Thomassen, a politician of Red. Oppland
Oppland is a former county in Norway which existed from 1781 until its dissolution on 1 January 2020. The old Oppland county bordered the counties of Trøndelag, Møre og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Akershus, Oslo and Hedmark. The county administration was located in the town of Lillehammer. Merger On 1 January 2020, the neighboring counties of Oppland and Hedmark were merged to form the new Innlandet county. Both Oppland and Hedmark were the only landlocked counties of Norway, and the new Innlandet county is the only landlocked county in Norway. The two counties had historically been one county that was divided in 1781. Historically, the region was commonly known as "Opplandene". Turid Thomassen
Turid Thomassen (born 19 April 1965) is a Norwegian politician who was party leader of the Norwegian Red party from 2010 to 2012, succeeding Torstein Dahle. Born in Stathelle, Telemark, Thomassen works in the administration offices of the Department for Television Education and Film Science at the Lillehammer University College, where she is also the highest union representative for the Norwegian Civil Service Union.
