The 2008 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship was the 15th World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event took place between 17 December 2007 and 1 January 2008 at the Alexandra Palace, London, England. John Part won his third World Championship, beating the qualifier Kirk Shepherd 7–2 in the final. Anthony Forde (born July 6, 1962) is a Barbadian former professional darts player. Career Forde won the 2004 Caribbean and South American Masters which earned him a place in the 2005 PDC World Darts Championship, where he lost in the first round to John Verwey. He won the tournament again in 2007, which earned him a place in the 2008 PDC World Darts Championship. He defeated Japan's Akihiro Nagakawa in the preliminary round and faced reigning champion Raymond van Barneveld in the first round where he lost 3-0. Forde was denied a third visit to the World Championship after losing in the final of the 2009 Caribbean and South American Masters to 2003 champion Norman Madhoo of Guyana. Forde finished as the runner-up in the 2018 WDF Americas Cup, losing to Robin Albury 1–4. Forde quit the PDC in 2018. The 2009 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship was the 16th World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event took place at Alexandra Palace in London from 19 December 2008 and 4 January 2009. John Part was the defending champion, having won the PDC World Championship for the second time in the previous year's final against Kirk Shepherd. However, he was eliminated by Bill Davis on the opening night. Shepherd's poor form in 2008 continued, as he was also eliminated in the first round, by Dutchman Jan van der Rassel.
