Lohagaon (''Lohagāva'') (Marathi: लोहगाव) is a neighbourhood in northeast Pune, India. There is a grand temple of Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj in Lohagaon. A big kirtan festival is celebrated every year and a big fair is held. Shiva Jayanti is also celebrated on a large scale every year. University Grants Commission (UGC) is a statutory body set up by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India in accordance to the UGC Act 1956 and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education in India.
