Cape Town Spurs F.C. (formerly known as Ajax Cape Town) is a South African professional football club based in Parow in the city of Cape Town that plays in the National First Division. Dutch Eredivisie club AFC Ajax was their parent club and majority shareholder after a merger of both Cape Town Spurs and Seven Stars in January 1999 until selling its shares in September 2020. History Cape Town Spurs were formed on 11 January 1970, competing in the Federation Professional League from 1971 until 1984, winning the league seven times, and the National Soccer League from 1985 to 1995, winning the championship in the final season, before the establishment of the South African Premiership in 1996. Eyong Tarkang Enoh (born 23 March 1986) is a Cameroonian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Daylon Kayton Claasen (born 28 January 1990) is a South African international soccer player who plays for Cape Town Spurs, as a winger. Club career Born in Klerksdorp, Claasen played youth football with Leicester City Klerksdorp and Vasco Da Gama. Steven Jerome Pienaar (; born 17 March 1982) is a South African former professional footballer and current coach of the U14 team of Sharjah FC in the United Arab Emirates. The Carling Knockout Cup is a South African professional soccer knockout competition which comprises the 16 teams in the South African Premiership. The Carling Knockout Cup is the third of the three main cups administered by the PSL along with the MTN 8 and the Nedbank Cup. Gordon Igesund (born 22 July 1956) is a former South African football player and coach who was most recently the manager of Highlands Park in the Premier Soccer League. Early life Igesund was born in Durban to George Norman Igesund (born 1932). His family lived in Port Shepstone where former Arsenal player Danny Le Roux lived.
