Sekondi-Takoradi
Sekondi-Takoradi is a city in Ghana comprising the twin cities of Sekondi and Takoradi. It is the capital of Sekondi – Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly and the Western Region of Ghana. Sekondi-Takoradi is the region's largest city and an industrial and commercial centre, with a population of 445,205 people (2012). The chief industries in Sekondi-Takoradi are timber, cocoa processing, plywood, shipbuilding, its harbour and railway repair, and recently, sweet crude oil and crude oil. Yendi
Yendi is a town and the capital of Yendi Municipal district in the Northern Region of Ghana. As of 2012 the population of Yendi was 52,008 people. It is the seat of the King of the Dagombas. Climate Economy The people of Yendi are mainly peasant farmers who grow grains especially corn, guinea corn and millet. They also grow tubers such as yam. Yendi is a commercial hub as it is caught in the middle of most towns/villages in the northern corridor. Most people travelling to Tamale and beyond from the Eastern corridor have to go through Yendi thus making it an important transport hub. Culture Yendi is an important cultural centre as it is home to the Dagbon traditional chieftaincy seat. The Yaa Naa lives in Yendi where he has his court/palace. Wenchi
Wenchi is a town and is the capital of Wenchi Municipal of the Bono Region in middle-belt of Ghana. Wenchi is located at 7.73333 atitude in decimal degrees -2.1 ongitude in decimal degreesat an average elevation/altitude of 304 meters. Wenchi is approximately 30 km north of Techiman and about 50 km east of the Ivory Coast border. Wenchi has a population of 39,187 people in 2013. Transport Wenchi is connected by road to Techiman and Sunyani and its airport, Sunyani Airport. Wenchi is not serviced by a railway station on the Ghana Railway Corporation, but it has been proposed that a line be extended to Wenchi. Wa Airport is an airport serving Wa, a city in the Upper West Region of Ghana which is also its capital. The airport is operated by Ghana Airports Company Limited. It is the fifth busiest commercial airport in Ghana with 4,696 passengers passing through in 2021. History The land was acquired by the Government in the year 1958. Airlines and destinations The airport opened to scheduled commercial flight operations on 15 October 2019 with service by Africa World Airlines from Accra via Tamale using an Embraer 145 regional jet. Services were suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and remain suspended pending resolution of various safety challenges. In December 2021, Passion Air announced 3 weekly services to Accra via Tamale. This service was subsequently increased to 5 weekly non-stop services using a Dash 8 aircraft. Wa is a town and the capital of Wa Municipal District and the Upper West Region of northern Ghana. Wa had a 2012 settlement population of 102,446. Tamale Airport is an airport serving Tamale, a town in the Northern Region of Ghana. It is the third busiest airport in Ghana, with 207,216 passengers in 2021.
