Rijeka Airport
Rijeka Airport ( hr, Zračna luka Rijeka, it, Aeroporto di Fiume; ) is the international airport serving Rijeka, Croatia. It is located near the town of Omišalj on the island of Krk, 17 km from the Rijeka railway station. Most of the traffic to and from the airport occurs during the summer months, when it is used by several European low-cost airlines flying tourists to the northern parts of the Croatian coast. History Rijeka airport opened in May 1970. The first plane to depart carried Josip Broz Tito and his wife. Before the Second World War, Rijeka was divided between Yugoslavia and Italy. The Yugoslav part of the city was served by the airfield in Sušak. Domestic airline Aeroput opened a route linking Sušak to Zagreb in 1930, and a year later, a route linking Zagreb to Belgrade via Sušak, Split and Sarajevo was opened. Hvar
Hvar (; Chakavian: ''Hvor'' or ''For'', el, Φάρος, Pharos, la, Pharia, it, Lesina) is a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea, located off the Dalmatian coast, lying between the islands of Brač, Vis and Korčula. Approximately long, with a high east–west ridge of Mesozoic limestone and dolomite, the island of Hvar is unusual in the area for having a large fertile coastal plain, and fresh water springs. Its hillsides are covered in pine forests, with vineyards, olive groves, fruit orchards and lavender fields in the agricultural areas. The climate is characterized by mild winters, and warm summers with many hours of sunshine. The island has 10,739 residents according to the 2021 census, making it the 4th most populated of the Croatian islands. Čepin
Čepin ( hu, Csepin; german: Tschepin) is a village and a municipality in Osijek-Baranja County, Croatia. It is located in northeast Slavonia, 10 kilometers southwest from Osijek. Čepin, with its 11,599 inhabitants at the 2011 census, is now included in Osijek built-up area. The majority of the population are Croats at 93.8%. Other minorities include Serbs and Hungarians. Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport ( hr, Zračna luka Franjo Tuđman Zagreb) or Zagreb Airport ( hr, Zračna luka Zagreb) () is an international airport serving Zagreb, Croatia. It is the largest and busiest airport in Croatia. In 2019 it handled 3.45 million passengers and some 13,000 tons of cargo. Named after Franjo Tuđman, the first President of Croatia, the airport is located some southeast of Zagreb Central Station in Velika Gorica. Zadar Airport
Zadar Airport ( hr, Zračna luka Zadar; ) is an international airport serving Zadar, Croatia. It is located in Zemunik Donji, from the centre of Zadar. History As early as 1936, Zadar (then part of the Italian Province of Zara) had regular commercial flights initially provided by Ala Littoria. Over time the airport has grown to become Croatia's 4th largest international airport, handling 801,347 annual passengers. It used to be one of a few airports in the world where the taxiway crossed a public road. The road was closed on 7 April 2010 due to terms negotiated with the European Union during Croatian accession negotiations. In 2020 an underpass was built and the road was reopened. At the beginning of April 2013, Zadar Airport became a Ryanair base with a stationed Boeing 737-800.
