Air Sweden was an airline based in Stockholm, Sweden, which operated charter flights out of Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, and worldwide aircraft lease services. The company was founded as the successor of Nordic Airways and received its airline license in December 2009. The airline suspended all operation in September 2011. Stockholm Arlanda Airport is an international airport located in the Sigtuna Municipality of Sweden, near the town of Märsta, north of Stockholm and nearly south-east of Uppsala. Aircraft leases are leases used by airlines and other aircraft operators. Airlines lease aircraft from other airlines or leasing companies for two main reasons: to operate aircraft without the financial burden of buying them, and to provide temporary increase in capacity. Nordic Airways
Nordic Airways was an airline based in Stockholm, Sweden. It operated extensive charter and wet lease services. The company's low-cost airline subsidiary Nordic Regional also operated a scheduled network of services linking five domestic and one international destination. Its main base was Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.
