Air Europa Express (1996)
Air Europa Express was a Spanish subsidier airline of Air Europa from 1996 till 2001 with its base at Palma de Mallorca Airport. History In 1996 Spanish airline Air Europa founded a regional airline to carry out its shorter and regional routes from the base at Palma de Mallorca Airport. The airline were a livery similar to the one of Air Europa only that an "Express" title was added to the fuselage. In 2001 the airline ceased all operations due to low demand and economic problems as well as by an effect of the 9/11 attacks. In 2015 the Globalia group bought Spanish regional airline Aeronova in preparation of restarting an airline with the name of Air Europa Express. The Air Europa Express started operations in January 2016 still under the AOC of Aeronova. Mallorca, or Majorca, is the largest island in the Balearic Islands, which are part of Spain and located in the Mediterranean. Air Europa Express (legally incorporated as ''Aeronova, S.L.U.'' and previously doing business as Aeronova) is a Spanish regional low-cost airline. It is a subsidiary of Globalia (which is also the parent company of Air Europa). The airline is set to operate regional routes for Air Europa. History The airline was founded in Spain in 1996 as Aeronova and flew scheduled and charter flights on behalf of other companies. Aeronova also had a school offering training for pilots on the two types the airline flew, the ATR 42 and the Fairchild SA-227 Metro. In November 2015 Globalia Corporacion, parent company of Air Europa, bought Aeronova. The British Aerospace ATP (Advanced Turbo-Prop) is an airliner designed and produced by British Aerospace. It was an evolution of the Hawker Siddeley HS 748, a fairly successful feederliner of the 1960s. The ATP was developed during the 1980s, events such as such as the 1979 oil crisis and increasing public concern regarding aircraft noise led to business planners at British Aerospace to believe that there was a market for a short-range, low-noise, fuel-efficient turboprop aircraft. First flown on 6 August 1986, by the time it became commercially available, the market segment it fell within was already hotly contested by multiple other airliners, such as the de Havilland Canada Dash 8, ATR 42, and ATR 72. The Boeing 737 is a narrow-body aircraft produced by Boeing at its Renton Factory in Washington. Developed to supplement the Boeing 727 on short and thin routes, the twinjet retains the 707 fuselage width and six abreast seating with two underwing turbofans.
