Aime Renaud High School
Aime Renaud High School was a Catholic public English and mixed Junior High School in the east end of Montreal. It was initially located in the then City of Saint-Leonard and then later in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough in the City of Montreal. Its sports teams competed as the Vikings. The team colours were black and grey. History The school was opened by the Commission scolaire Jérôme-Le Royer for the 1972-73 school year in a rented building at the corner of Aimé-Renaud Street and Metropolitan Boulevard. The students attending were there for secondary II and III (Grades 8 and 9) although there were some secondary I (Grade 7) students some years. The school was a feeder school for Laurier Macdonald High School, a senior high school. The building had been previously used as a French high school by the same school board since 1967. Saint-Leonard, Quebec
Saint-Leonard ( ; french: Saint-Léonard ) is a borough (''arrondissement'') of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Formerly a separate city, it was amalgamated into the city of Montreal in 2002. The former city was originally called Saint-Léonard de Port Maurice after Leonard of Port Maurice, an Italian saint. The borough is home to Montreal's Via Italia. The Commission scolaire Jérôme-Le Royer was a Catholic school board located on the Island of Montreal in Quebec, Canada. It oversaw French and English schools in the former independent municipalities of Anjou, Saint-Leonard, and Montreal-Est as well as the city of Montreal's borough of Pointe-aux-Trembles It was abolished by the government of Quebec on July 1, 1998, as part of a general transition from school boards representing religious communities to those representing linguistic communities. The Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal (PSBGM, french: Commission des écoles protestantes du Grand Montréal, CEPGM) was a Protestant and predominantly English-language school district in Montreal, Quebec, Canada which was founded in 1951 as a replacement for the Montreal Protestant Central Board, and ceased operations in 1998, with most of its assets transferred to the new English Montreal School Board. Montreal Catholic School Commission
The Montreal Catholic School Commission (Commission des écoles catholiques de Montréal, CECM) was a Roman Catholic school district in Montreal, Quebec, Canada which operated both French-language and English-language schools. It was the largest school board in Quebec, and was created on June 9, 1846, at the same time as a Protestant school commission, which became the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal. When Quebec's religious "confessional" school boards were replaced by linguistic ones in 1998, the French-language schools and the board's headquarters were turned over to the Commission scolaire de Montréal and its English-language schools to the English Montreal School Board. Anjou () is a borough (''arrondissement'') of the city of Montreal. Prior to its 2002 merger it was an independent city. Although it is no longer an independent city, it is still commonly known as known as ''Ville d'Anjou''. Geography The borough is located in the eastern end of the island of Montreal. The borough largely retained its former municipality logo, although the borough's logo is used on fleet vehicles without Montreal's logo. Honoré-Beaugrand station
Honoré-Beaugrand station is a Montreal Metro station in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is operated by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and is the eastern terminus of the Green Line. It is located in the district of Tétreaultville. The station opened on June 6, 1976, replacing Frontenac station as the terminus. Overview Designed by Papineau, Gérin-Lajoie, Le Blanc, Edwards, it is a normal side platform station built in open cut. A vast mezzanine at the eastern end of the station provides access to three exits, two of which are surrounded by bus loops serving a large number of bus routes from the east end of the island.
