Aideliz Hidalgo (born 1986 in Santurce) is a Puerto Rican beauty pageant titleholder who held the title of Miss Puerto Rico International 2010. She was the first black woman to compete in Miss International as Miss Puerto Rico. Career Nuestra Belleza Latina 2008 In the spring of 2008 Aideliz participated in the reality show/beauty contest Nuestra Belleza Latina. After weeks of auditions, Aideliz was selected as one of the final twelve finalists, in which she was eliminated on the fourth week of the show, finishing in ninth place. Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2010 On November 12, 2009, Hidalgo competed at the Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2010 pageant where she represented the state of Cayey and placed as one of the final five finalists, in which she then resulted as the second runner-up. Hidalgo also won the award for Best Catwalk in a preliminary event that was held weeks before the final night of the pageant. Nuestra Belleza Latina 2008
''Nuestra Belleza Latina 2008'' was the second season of ''Nuestra Belleza Latina'', which premiered in February 2008 on Univision. Auditions were once again held in five major U.S. cities (Los Angeles; Houston; Miami; Chicago; and New York City) and in San Juan, Puerto Rico. During the audition process, 75 young women were given passes to the semifinals in Miami, Florida. The elimination process was quick, with 15 women leaving the first week, 40 in the second week, and finally, on March 28, 2008, eight women were eliminated leaving the 12 finalists who moved into a Miami mansion, where they lived for the rest of the competition. Each week, viewers had the chance to vote for their favorite finalists. Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2010
The 55th Annual Miss Universe Puerto Rico pageant was held on November 12, 2009 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Mayra Matos, who won the title of Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2009, crowned her successor Mariana Vicente as Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2010, who then represented Puerto Rico at the Miss Universe 2010 pageant. Miss International 2010
Miss International 2010, the 50th anniversary of the Miss International pageant, was held on November 7, 2010 at the Sichuan Province Gymnasium in Chengdu, China. Miss International 2009, Anagabriela Espinoza of Mexico crowned her successor, Elizabeth Mosquera of Venezuela, at the end of the event. Seventy contestants competed for the title, the highest turnout in the history of Miss International at the time.
