Aicha Tachinouite
Aicha Tachinouite (berber: ⵄⵉⵛⴰ ⵜⴰⵛⵉⵏⵡⵉⵜ; born 1968) is a Moroccan Shilha singer and dancer. She sings and performs mainly in Tashelhit, her native Berber tongue. Biography Aicha Ziati was born in 1968 in Inezgane, Morocco. She started dancing, singing, and composing music for school activities during her childhood. In the early 1990s, she started dancing and singing together with some of the biggest Amazigh was at that time such as Hassan Arsmouk and Outaleb El Mzoudi. Inezgane
Inezgane (; ) is the capital of Inezgane-Aït Melloul Prefecture located on the north bank of the Sous River, about south of Agadir, on the Atlantic Ocean coast of Morocco. It is in some ways a suburb to the larger Agadir, but unlike the tourism-centered Agadir, Inezgane is a typical Moroccan/Berber city. Located where the N1, N8 and N10 highways meet, Inezgane is an important transport hub in the region of Souss-Massa. Raissa Kelly
Karen or Raissa Kelly (born in Blois in 1976) is a French singer in Tachelhit. Biography Kelly was born in 1976 from a French-Portuguese couple living in Blois in the department of Loir-et-Cher in France. In 1988, Kelly visited Casablanca in Morocco together with her family. Aged 12 and during this trip, she was inspired to learn more about the Moroccan culture and languages. In the end of 1991, she was invited to sing in Tashelhit in the national theater of Mohammed V in Rabat. After this appearance, she collaborated with several rways such as Hassan Arsmouk and mostly Hassan Aglawo under her artistic name Rayssa Kelly. Biography Born in Boston, Grout studied at the Longy School of Music of Bard College, then at the McGill University in Canada. She is the daughter of a pianist and a violinist and began studying music at 5. In 2012 and after her summer trip to Morocco, Jennifer Grout got interested in Arabic and Amazigh culture and music. "Naima" ( ) is a jazz ballad composed by John Coltrane in 1959 that he named after his then-wife, Juanita Naima Grubbs. Coltrane first recorded it for his 1959 album ''Giant Steps'', and it became one of his first well-known works. History Coltrane recorded "Naima" many times. It appears on ''The Complete Copenhagen Concert'' (1961), ''Live at the Village Vanguard Again!'' (1966), ''Afro Blue Impressions'' (1977), ''The Complete 1961 Village Vanguard Recordings'' (1997), and '' Blue World'' (2019). "Naima" has since become a jazz standard. Mawazine
Mawazine ( ar, موازين, mawāzīn, meaning "rhythms of the world") is a Moroccan International music festival held annually in Rabat, Morocco, featuring many international and local music artists. The festival is presided over by Mounir Majidi, the personal secretary of the Moroccan King Mohammed VI and founder and president of Maroc Culture, the cultural foundation that organizes Mawazine and other events. The 2013 festival was attended by an estimated 2.5 million people, making Mawazine the largest festival in the world after Donauinselfest in Vienna. With 90 acts on 7 stages it has the highest ratio of attendees per stage in the world. Mawazine is one of several events which are intended to promote an image of Morocco as a tolerant nation, and a post on the event's website declares that the goal of the festival is to promote Rabat as a city open to the world.
