Ai Tong School
Ai Tong School () is a primary school located in Bishan, Singapore. It is one of the five affiliated primary schools under the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan. As a Chinese-medium school, Ai Tong emphasises strongly on the learning of Chinese culture, language and values. Ai Tong School is considered to be one of the most popular primary schools in Singapore, with places in the primary 1 intake frequently being oversubscribed. The name Ai Tong () is derived from the Chinese values of "Bo Ai" () and "Da Tong" (大同) which means 'Love for all humanity' and 'Equality/Harmony' respectively. This name was given by Pastor Ong Kah Mok, one of the founders of this school. Special Assistance Plan
The Special Assistance Plan (SAP; ) is a programme in Singapore introduced in 1979 which caters to academically strong students who excel in both their mother tongue as well as English. It is available only in selected primary and secondary schools. In a SAP school, several subjects may be taught in the mother tongue, alongside other subjects that are taught in English. SAP schools currently cater only to those studying Mandarin as their mother tongue although theoretically, future SAP schools for other mother tongues are a possibility. Ang Mo Kio is a planning area and residential town situated in the North-East of Singapore. Located approximately north of the Downtown Core district, Ang Mo Kio is the 3rd most populated planning area in the North-East Region and ranks 8th in terms of population in the country overall. Peh Chin Hua
Peh Chin Hua (; born 1947) is a former Singaporean politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Jalan Besar GRC from 1988 to 2001. He retired from politics in 2001. Political career Peh's career in public service spanned 25 years. He started out as the member of the Kim Seng Grassroots Organisation in 1973. He was appointed honorary secretary of the Kim Seng Community Centre Management Committee, and later served as the Chairman of the Kim Seng Citizens' Consultative Committee. Peh was first elected to the Singapore Parliament in 1988, when he won the constituency seat for Geylang West in the Jalan Besar GRC with 62.68% of total votes cast. Kong Hwa School (abbreviation: KHS; Chinese: ), is a co-educational and SAP primary school in Singapore. Tao Nan School
Tao Nan School (abbreviation: TNS; Chinese: ), is a co-educational primary school in Singapore. One of the six Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan schools, along with Ai Tong School, Chongfu Primary School, Kong Hwa School, Nan Chiau Primary School and Nan Chiau High School, Tao Nan School is among the 30 most popular primary schools listed by the Ministry of Education. Tao Nan School is also offering the Gifted Education Programme that started in 1996. The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) (Malay: ''Peperiksaan Tamat Sekolah Rendah'', Simplified Chinese: 小学离校考试 x''iǎoxué lí xiào kǎoshì'') is a national examination in Singapore that is administered by the Ministry of Education and taken by all students near the end of their sixth year in primary school before they move on to secondary school. Thomson Group Representation Constituency (GRC) was a defunct four-member constituency that compromises of Bishan East, Serangoon Gardens, Bishan North and Thomson from 1991 to 1997.
