Ai No Shirushi
"Ai no shirushi" is the 6th single released by Japanese pop duo Puffy AmiYumi. It was released on March 14, 1998. This song was written and composed by Masamune Kusano of band Spitz. Some of this song was played in the film Waterboys. They also sang a Chinese Mandarin version of it on their album The Very Best of Puffy/AmiYumi Jet Fever. Captain Funk also did a remix of it on their album An Illustrated History. There was also a special version of the song sung for the Drummania game. Puffy AmiYumi
is a Japanese pop rock duo formed in Tokyo in 1995, consisting of singers Ami Onuki and Yumi Yoshimura. In the United States, they adopted the name Puffy AmiYumi to avoid legal naming conflicts with Sean Combs, who also performed under the name Puffy. They sing in Japanese and English. Onuki and Yoshimura were scouted by Sony-affiliated talent agencies and put together in the mid-1990s. Most of their work was produced or co-written by Tamio Okuda and Andy Sturmer, formerly of the bands Unicorn and Jellyfish, respectively. The pair's first release "Asia no Junshin" (1996) sold a million records. ''Jet CD'' is a studio album by Japanese pop rock duo Puffy, released on March 31, 1998 through Epic/Sony Records. It features five hit singles that they released between 1996 and 1997, including three of which topped the Japanese Oricon charts. ''Jet'' debuted at the number-two on the Oricon Weekly Albums Charts (defeated by Globe's third album ''Love Again''), and climbed the summit in following week. The album remained there for 16 weeks, becoming their only album to have sold more than 1 million copies. In March 1999, the album won the 13th Gold Disc Awards by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, the prizes conferred on the music recordings which gained outstanding commercial success. Bubblegum Pop
Bubblegum (also called bubblegum pop) is pop music in a catchy and upbeat style that is considered disposable, contrived, or marketed for children and adolescents. The term also refers to a rock and pop subgenre, originating in the United States in the late 1960s, that evolved from garage rock, novelty songs, and the Brill Building sound, and which was also defined by its target demographic of preteens and young teenagers. The Archies' 1969 hit "Sugar, Sugar" was a representative example that led to cartoon rock, a short-lived trend of Saturday-morning cartoon series that heavily featured pop rock songs in the bubblegum vein. Masamune Kusano
, was a medieval Japanese blacksmith widely acclaimed as Japan's greatest swordsmith. He created swords and daggers, known in Japanese as ''tachi'' and ''tantō'', in the ''Sōshū'' school. are a Japanese rock band. The group was originally formed in 1987 by four art school students in Tokyo – it consists of Masamune Kusano (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Tetsuya Miwa (lead guitar), Akihiro Tamura (bass guitar), and Tatsuo Sakiyama (drums). In March 1991, Spitz released their first single "Hibari no Kokoro" and the self-titled debut album simultaneously on Polydor Records. Waterboys (film)
is a 2001 Japanese comedy film written and directed by Shinobu Yaguchi, about five boys who start a synchronized swimming team at their high school. The film stars Satoshi Tsumabuki (Suzuki, the leader of the team), Hiroshi Tamaki (Sato), Akifumi Miura (Ohta), Koen Kondo (Kanazawa), Takatoshi Kaneko (Saotome) and Naoto Takenaka (the dolphin trainer). The film was a success in Japan, and was nominated for eight prizes at the Japan Academy Prize, winning awards for 'Best Newcomer' and 'Best Music Score'. A spin-off television series entered its third season in 2005. ''An Illustrated History'' is the second North American album release by Japanese pop group Puffy AmiYumi, released on May 21, 2002. (See 2002 in music). The album contains a compilation of Puffy's hits in Japan from their debut ('Asia no Junshin', albeit in English lyrics) up to the time then (most likely the whole inclusion of the Atarashii Hibi single, without the karaoke song). At least 1 song from each of Puffy's earlier Japanese album releases before 2002 were included with the exception of '' solosolo''.
