Ahsanollah Shirkavand
Ahsanollah Shirkavand ( fa, احسنالله شیرکوند; born 18 March 1981 in Varamin, Tehran Province) is an Iranian volleyball libero. After playing at the Asian Youth Games, he was invited to the Iran Men's National Volleyball Team and played for it from 1998 to 2000 who finished fourth at the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship. Shirkavand continued playing for the National Team under the coaching of Julio Velasco until 2013, when he was forced to leave national games due to injury. Asian Men's Volleyball Championship
The Asian Men's Volleyball Championship is an international volleyball competition in Asia and Oceania contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continent governing body. The initial gap between championships was four years, but since 1987 they have been awarded every two years. The current champion is Iran, which won its fourth title at the 2021 tournament. The men's volleyball tournament at the 2002 Asian Games was held from Tuesday October 2 to Saturday October 13, 2002 in Busan, South Korea. The men's volleyball event was contested for the 12th time at the Asian Games. The Iran Men's National Volleyball Team is the official national men's volleyball team of Iran. It is governed by the Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation (I.R.I.V.F.) and takes part in international volleyball competitions. Julio Velasco
Julio Velasco (born 9 February 1952) is an Argentine former professional volleyball player and coach. He's had Italian citizenship obtained in 1992. Velasco was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2005. Velasco currently serves as a sports director for the Italian Volleyball Federation. Career Player Julio Velasco began playing volleyball at the age of 15 for National University of La Plata Club. Coach Velasco became assistant coach on the Argentina national men's team from 1981 to 1983. In 1983 he was invited to coach for Tre Valli Jesi in Italy, staying until 1985.
