Ahmed Gasmi (born November 22, 1984) is an Algerian footballer who plays for RC Kouba in the Algerian Ligue 2. Club career On June 27, 2010, Gasmi signed a one-year contract with JSM Béjaïa, joining them on a free transfer from USM Annaba. International career On October 29, 2009, Gasmi was called up to the Algeria A' National Team by head coach Abdelhak Benchikha for the first time for a week-long training camp. The Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 ( ar, الرابطة الجزائرية المحترفة الأولى لكرة القدم); known as Championnat National de Première Division or Ligue 1 for short, and formerly known as the Championnat National 1, is the Algerian professional league for association football clubs. It is the country's primary football competition and serves as the top division of the Algerian football league system. Skikda
Skikda ( ar, سكيكدة; formerly Philippeville from 1838 to 1962 and Rusicade in ancient times) is a city in northeastern Algeria and a port on the Mediterranean. It is the capital of Skikda Province and Skikda District. History The Phoenicians and Carthaginians established a trading post and fort named (, "Jug Cape") after Skikda's nearby cape. Falling under Roman hegemony after the Punic Wars, the name was Latinized as Rusicade or Rusiccade. Rusicade contained the largest Roman theatre in Algeria, dating to the reign of Hadrian. In late antiquity, the port was destroyed during the Vandals' invasion of 530. The Byzantines reconquered the region in 533 and 534, but left large areas under Berber control. The town was overrun by the Umayyad Caliphate at the end of the 7th century. Algerian Cup
The Algerian Cup ( ar, كأس الجزائر) also known the Republic Cup ( ar, كأس الجمهورية), is a football competition in Algeria, pitting regional teams against each other. It was established in October 1962, three months after independence, and has been played yearly since then apart from 1990 and 1993. The most successful clubs in this competition are USM Alger, CR Belouizdad, ES Setif and MC Alger with eight trophies for each. The record for consecutive wins in the competition is only two, several teams have achieved such USM Alger, CR Belouizdad, MC Oran, JS Kabylie and MC Algiers. The Algerian Super Cup ( ar, كأس الجزائر الممتازة), is an Algerian football competition, held as a game between the reigning champions of the Algerian League and the Algerian Cup. The first edition was held in 1973 and then again in 1981, 1992 and 1995 before being scrapped. The game returned in 2006 but would be scrapped again after the 2007 edition, returning once again in 2013. The current holders are CR Belouizdad, who beat USM Alger in the 2019 final, played in November 2020. MC Alger is the most successful club in the competition, having won the trophy three times.
