Ahmed Brahim (Al-Qaeda)
Ahmed Brahim (born 1945) is a convicted al-Qaeda member from Algeria. Spanish authorities arrested him in 2002 on charges that he was a chief financier for al-Qaeda in Spain. He is also alleged to have been a planner in the bombing of two US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998. Brahim is married to a Finnish national identified as Pirjo. Spanish counter-terrorism judge Baltasar Garzón has also alleged that Ahmed Brahim had "routine contacts" with Swiss-born Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan Tariq Ramadan ( ar, طارق رمضان, ; born 26 August 1962) is a Swiss Muslim academic, philosopher, and writer. Al-Qaeda
Al-Qaeda (; , ) is an Islamic extremism, Islamic extremist organization composed of Salafist jihadists. Its members are mostly composed of Arab, Arabs, but also include other peoples. Abu Hafs Al-Masri Brigades
The Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades ( ar, كتائب أبو حفص المصري), or Abu Hafs al-Masri Battalions, is a group which claims to be a branch of the Islamic fundamentalist organisation Al-Qaeda. The group is named after a former policeman Mohammed Atef, aka Abu Hafs, of Egypt, who was a member of Ayman al-Zawahiri's al-Jihad al-Islami ( Islamic Jihad). Al-Masri means "the Egyptian" in Arabic. He became a relative to Osama bin Laden, the al-Qaeda leader, after his daughter married bin Laden's son, Mohammed bin Laden. He was killed by U.S. airstrikes in Afghanistan in late 2001. He has been adopted as a "martyr" to the fundamentalist cause. Baltasar Garzón
Baltasar Garzón Real (; born 26 October 1955) is a former Spanish judge. Garzón formerly served on Spain's central criminal court, the ''Audiencia Nacional'', and was the examining magistrate of the ''Juzgado Central de Instrucción No. 5'', which investigates the most important criminal cases in Spain, including terrorism, organised crime, and money laundering. Tariq Ramadan ( ar, طارق رمضان, ; born 26 August 1962) is a Swiss Muslim academic, philosopher, and writer.
