Ahmad Hijazi
Ahmad Mostafa Hijazi ( ar, أحمد مصطفى حجازي, ; born 22 August 1994) is a Lebanese Association football, footballer who plays as a Forward (association football), forward for club Al Ansar FC, Ansar. Club career After spending three seasons on loan from Al Ahed FC, Ahed—at Racing Club Beirut, Racing Beirut, Al Nabi Chit SC, Nabi Chit, and Akhaa Ahli Aley FC, Akhaa Ahli Aley, respectively—Hijazi signed a permanent deal with Akhaa Ahli Aley in summer 2019. He was sent on loan to Al Ansar FC, Ansar on 23 January 2020, to compete in the 2020 AFC Cup. On 9 July 2020, Hijazi joined Ansar permanently on a five-year deal. On 24 April 2021, he helped his team win the 2020–21 Lebanese Premier League, their first league title since 2007—and 14th overall—scoring in a 2–1 win against rivals Nejmeh SC, Nejmeh in the Beirut derby in the last matchday of the season. Al Ansar FC
Al Ansar Football Club ( ar, نادي الأنصار الرياضي, lit=The Supporters Sporting Club) is a Association football, football club based in Tariq El Jdideh, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . Formed in 1951, the club did not win its first Lebanese Premier League until 1988. They went on to set a world record by winning the league 11 seasons in a row. Ansar is the most successful club in the country, having won the Lebanese Premier League 14 times and the Lebanese FA Cup 15 times. Ansar's major rivalry is with Nejmeh SC, Nejmeh; dubbed the Beirut derby, it is the most anticipated game in Lebanon. 2019 WAFF Championship
The 2019 West Asian Football Federation Championship, also called Asiacell WAFF Championship Iraq 2019 due to sponsorship by Asiacell, was the 9th edition of the WAFF Championship, an international tournament for member nations of the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF). It was hosted in Iraq for the first time, in the cities of Karbala and Erbil. The tournament was meant to be held from 8 to 17 December 2017 in Amman, Jordan, but was postponed to a later date, and subsequently moved to Iraq on 21 May 2018. It was then expected to be held in November 2018, but yet again postponed to July–August 2019. All WAFF members, excluding title holders Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, participated in the competition. Of the nine teams, seven had also appeared in the previous tournament in 2014. The Lebanese Elite Cup () is a Lebanese football annual cup competition contested by the top six teams of the previous Lebanese Premier League season. Founded in 1996 as the Super League Cup, the first edition was contested by the top five finishers of the league and the Lebanese FA Cup winners. The most successful club in the competition is Nejmeh with 12 titles, followed by Ahed with six. History The competition was first played in 1996 and was contested by the top five of the league and the Lebanese FA Cup winners; it was known as the Super League Cup. 2021 Lebanese Super Cup
The 2021 Lebanese Super Cup was the 21st Lebanese Super Cup, an annual football match played between the winners of the previous season's Lebanese Premier League and Lebanese FA Cup. As Ansar won both competitions in 2021, their opponents were the 2020–21 league runners-up Nejmeh. The match was played at the Fouad Chehab Stadium on 7 August 2021. Ansar won their sixth title, defeating rivals Nejmeh on penalties, following a 2–2 draw after regular time. Match Summary Mahdi Zein of Nejmeh opened the scoring in the 39th minute, assisted by Khalil Bader. The Lebanese Super Cup () is Lebanese football's annual match contested between the champions of the previous Lebanese Premier League season and the holders of the Lebanese FA Cup. If the Lebanese Premier League champions also won the Lebanese FA Cup then the league runners-up provide the opposition.
