Agmark Gurias
The Agmark Rabaul Gurias are a semi professional Papua New Guinean rugby league team from Kokopo, East New Britain Province . They currently compete in the Papua New Guinea National Rugby League Competition. They play their home games at Kalabond Oval at the foot of active volcano Tavurvur. The Franchise is owned by NGIP Agmark Limited and was founded in 1991. The team has won six premierships in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2009, 2012 and 2015. Rugby league football, commonly known as just rugby league and sometimes football, footy, rugby or league, is a full-contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players on a rectangular field measuring 68 metres (75 yards) wide and 112–122 metres (122 to 133 yards) long with H shaped posts at both ends. Ase Boas
Ase Boas (born 1988) is a Papua New Guinean rugby league footballer who plays for Rabaul Gurias. A Papua New Guinean representative , Boas previously played for the Featherstone Rovers in the Championship. He was a member of PNG's squads at the 2013 and 2017 World Cup tournaments. Playing career Boas was the captain for the PNG Hunters in the 2017 Queensland Cup season where they won the title. He previously played for the Rabaul Gurias in the PNG domestic competition, which he captained to premiership victory in 2012 before joining the Hunters in 2015. Garry Lo (born 1 November 1993) is a Papua New Guinean rugby league footballer who plays for the Waghi Tumbe in the Digicel Cup. Lo plays as a winger. He is also a Papua New Guinea international. Menzie Yere
Emmanuel Menzie Yere (born 24 October 1983) is a Papua New Guinean professional rugby league footballer who plays for the Sheffield Eagles whom he played with in the 2000s and 2010s. He was a Papua New Guinea national rugby league team, Papua New Guinea international. He is also Sheffield Eagles' all-time leading try scorer with 195 tries in 292 games. Club career Yere was signed by Sheffield Eagles in 2008 following some impressive performances for Papua New Guinea at the Rugby League World Cup. Michael Marum
Michael Marum (born 8 October 1973) is a Papua New Guinean rugby league coach and former player who was the first head coach of the Port Moresby-based PNG Hunters in the Queensland Cup and the Papua New Guinea national team. During his playing career, Marum represented Papua New Guinea at the 2000 World Cup. He is the nephew of Skerry Palanga, who coached Papua New Guinea in the 1980s and 1990s. Playing career Marum played for the Port Moresby Vipers and then went on to captain, the Agmark Rabaul Guria's and played four tests for Papua New Guinea, including one at the 2000 World Cup. Wartovo Puara Jr (born 24 June 1990) is a Papua New Guinean professional rugby league footballer who plays as a for the Sepik Pride Rugby League Football Club in the PNGNRL. The Papua New Guinea National Rugby League Competition (or the PNGNRL for short, for sponsorship reasons the PNGNRL Digicel Cup) is a semi-professional rugby league competition held annually in Papua New Guinea. Changes in Sponorship have meant it was Formerly known as the SP Inter-City Cup or SP Cup (1990–2008) and later the Bemobile Cup (2009–2010). The current competition is sponsored by pacific telecommunications giant Digicel and so it is currently called the Digicel Cup. History Previous to 2005 the PNG NRL was called the SP Inter-City Cup. PNG Hunters
The Papua New Guinea Hunters (PNG Hunters) are a professional rugby league football club based in Papua New Guinea. They were formed in December 2013 and currently compete in the Queensland Rugby League, currently called the Hostplus Cup, a second tier of rugby league in Australia. The Hunters are the second Papua New Guinean side to enter the Queensland Cup following the Port Moresby Vipers who competed for two seasons in 1996 and 1997.
