Michael Marum
Michael Marum (born 8 October 1973) is a Papua New Guinean rugby league coach and former player who was the first head coach of the Port Moresby-based PNG Hunters in the Queensland Cup and the Papua New Guinea national team. During his playing career, Marum represented Papua New Guinea at the 2000 World Cup. He is the nephew of Skerry Palanga, who coached Papua New Guinea in the 1980s and 1990s. Playing career Marum played for the Port Moresby Vipers and then went on to captain, the Agmark Rabaul Guria's and played four tests for Papua New Guinea, including one at the 2000 World Cup. Coaching career Some of Marum's earliest coaching roles were as an assistant for the PNG national side at the 2008 World Cup and 2010 Four Nations. His first head coach role was with the Agmark Gurias in the PNG domestic competition in 2012. Marum has also served as the competition director to the local Agmark nines tournament. Papua New Guinea Hunters
The Papua New Guinea Hunters (PNG Hunters) are a professional rugby league football club based in Papua New Guinea. They were formed in December 2013 and currently compete in the Queensland Rugby League, currently called the Hostplus Cup, a second tier of rugby league in Australia. The Hunters are the second Papua New Guinean side to enter the Queensland Cup following the Port Moresby Vipers who competed for two seasons in 1996 and 1997. Every Hunters match is shown live on national free-to-air television. The Hunters' home ground is the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby and their team colours are red, black and gold. Stanley Tepend (born 15 May 1973) is a Papua New Guinean professional rugby league coach who is the head coach of the PNG Hunters in the Hostplus Cup and national coach of the Papua New Guinea Kumuls. Playing career Tepend played for the Enga Mioks in the PNG SP Inter-city cup national competition. The Enga Mioks won the 2000 Digicel cup with Tepend starting at hooker in the win. Background During the previous election held in 2017, the People's National Congress (PNC), led by prime minister Peter O'Neill, won a plurality, securing 28 seats.
