Agile Software Development
In software development, agile (sometimes written Agile) practices include requirements discovery and solutions improvement through the collaborative effort of self-organizing and cross-functional teams with their customer(s)/ end user(s), adaptive planning, evolutionary development, early delivery, continual improvement, and flexible responses to changes in requirements, capacity, and understanding of the problems to be solved. Popularized in the 2001 ''Manifesto for Agile Software Development'', these values and principles were derived from and underpin a broad range of software development frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban. While there is much anecdotal evidence that adopting agile practices and values improves the effectiveness of software professionals, teams and organizations, the empirical evidence is mixed and hard to find. History Iterative and incremental software development methods can be traced back as early as 1957, Gerald M. Weinberg, as quoted in " ...

Agile Construction
Agile construction is an integrated system of principles and methods, and a philosophy of doing business adapted to jobsites and overall project delivery in the construction industry. It is born from agile manufacturing and project management, which is mostly used in manufacturing production, automotive and Software development, software developing teams. It is the application of the Toyota Production System to the construction industry, with two parallel paths: Measuring (ASTM International, ASTM E2691) and improving productivity,as well as segregating and externalizing work through prefabrication and supply chain management. Like the Toyota Production System, agile construction principles form a system that relies on input from the source of the work information, both up front for planning the project, as well as throughout the life of a project for real-time feedback. The real-time input produces real-time measurements of productivity and allows for improved responsiveness to ch ...

Chevrolet Agile
The Chevrolet Agile is a subcompact car that was developed by Chevrolet in Brazil and built in Argentina. Based on the "GPiX Concept" which was introduced at the 2008 São Paulo Auto Show, the Agile went on sale in 2009 and competes with the Volkswagen Fox and similar models. The second generation Chevrolet Montana coupé utility shares the same platform with Agile. The Chevrolet Agile is powered by a Family 1 engine 1.4 L flex-fuel engine. Features The Agile was available in two trim levels; LT and LTZ, with a base LS in some markets. Anti-lock braking systems are available on the LTZ model. Engines In most South American markets, the 1389cc engine produces and . The Brazilian Agile Flexfuel 1.4L 8-valve engine produces and torque with petrol, and with ethanol. Safety The Chevrolet Agile in its most basic Latin American configuration with no airbags and no ABS has been rated as totally unsafe by Latin NCAP in 2013, scoring zero stars for adult occupants and two stars fo ...

Agile Learning
Agile learning generally refers to the transfer of agile methods of project work, especially Scrum, to learning processes. Likewise, agile learning proceeds in incremental steps and through an Iterative design which alternates between phases of learning and doing. The tutors rather have the role of a learning attendant or supporter. In a narrower sense, it is intended to allow competence-oriented, media-based learning in the work process within companies. Background Scrum is a framework for project and product management, in particular for agile software development. Scrum employs an iterative, incremental approach to optimize predictability and control risk. It has been developed from the experience that many development projects are too complex to be included in a full-scale plan, and an essential part of the requirements cannot be fully understood or defined up front. In order to eliminate these ambiguities, work is broken into actions that can be completed within time-boxed ...

Agile (horse)
Agile (1902–after 1914) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 1905 Kentucky Derby. Background Agile was sired by Sir Dixon, a very good runner whose wins included the Belmont, Travers and Withers Stakes and who was the Leading sire in North America in 1901. In addition to Agile, Sir Dixon was also the sire of Champions Running Water and Blue Girl as well as the multiple top level stakes winner and track record breaker, Blues. Racing career Ridden by Jack Martin, Agile won the 1905 Kentucky Derby against two other competitors, Ram's Horn and Layson. It was one of the smallest fields since Azra won in 1892. Following the death of Captain Samuel Brown, his son Frank bought Agile for $5,700 in the July 1906 dispersal sale of the entire racing stable. The last record of Agile racing was coming last in a claiming race at Aqueduct Racetrack in November 1907. Stud career Agile sired three registered Thoroughbred offspring out of Texas-bred mares; the fillies Lady ...

Agile Project Management (book)
''Agile Project Management: Creating Innovative Products'' by Jim Highsmith discusses the management of projects using the agile software development methodology. The book has been recommended by different reviewers. The book starts off by stating that new challenges in product development require adaptive, not anticipatory, project management. It then introduces the reader to the basic agile values as written in the Agile Manifesto, and to the six guiding principles of agile project management. Next, the agile project management framework is broken down into five project phases and discussed in detail. Lastly, the book ends by talking about the scaling of agile project management approaches and the cultural changes required to continuously produce desired results when using agile practices. It uses a variety of examples from different industries as illustrations. The book was a finalist for CMP Media's Jolt Awards Jolt may refer to: *Jolt Award, an award in the software indus ...

AIM-95 Agile
The AIM-95 Agile was an air-to-air missile developed by the United States. It was developed by the US Navy to equip the F-14 Tomcat, replacing the AIM-9 Sidewinder. Around the same time, the US Air Force was designing the AIM-82 to equip their F-15 Eagle, and later dropped their efforts to join the Agile program. In the end, newer versions of Sidewinder would close the performance gap so much that the Agile program was canceled. Overview Background Early infrared homing missiles had two limitations that made them difficult to use in combat situations. The first was that the seeker was relatively insensitive and required large, hot sources to reliably track a target. In practice, this meant the engine of the enemy aircraft had to remain visible to the missile through the shot. The other was that the seeker had a limited field of view (FOV), meaning it could only see the target if it was in front of the missile. These limitations were made clear during the Vietnam War, when early mis ...

Wallis WA-116 Agile
The Wallis WA-116 Agile is a British autogyro developed in the early 1960s by former Royal Air Force Wing Commander Ken Wallis. The aircraft was produced in a number of variants, one of which, nicknamed ''Little Nellie'', was flown in the 1967 James Bond film '' You Only Live Twice''. ''Little Nellie'' is currently on static display at The Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden, Bedfordshire in the UK. Design and development Wing Commander Ken Wallis, a former RAF pilot, developed a number of improvements to the autogyro design, including the offset gimbal rotor head which gives the autogyro hands-off stability."The Wallis Autogyros."

Agile (species Group)
''Pison'' is a cosmopolitan genus of wasps within the family Crabronidae. The genus comprises 145 described species, although many species, especially in South America remain undescribed.Bohart, Richard Mitchell, and Arnold S. Menke. Sphecid wasps of the world: a generic revision. University of California Press, 1976. Distribution The genus is found throughout the tropical and warm temperate regions of the world, but does not extend into the more northerly temperate regions. Most species occur in the Southern Hemisphere, with a third of species occurring in Australia. This distribution pattern has been thought to indicate that the genus was once much larger, and has declined in the face of competition with more competitive wasp genera, leaving the genus largely concentrated in geographically-isolated regions.Turner, Rowland E. "29. Notes On The Wasps Of The Genus Pison, And Some Allied Genera." Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London. Vol. 86. No. 4. Blackwell Publishing ...
