Agetec Inc. ("ASCII Game Entertainment Technology") is an American video game publishing company that is best known for bringing Japanese titles to the United States. The company was formed through ASCII Corporation, spinning off their American distribution subsidiary as an independent corporation in 1998, and became a standalone publisher one year later. Notable games published by Agetec include ''R-Type Delta'', ''Armored Core'' series, and the King's Field series, as well as the "designer series" ''RPG Maker'' and ''Fighter Maker''. FromSoftware, Inc. is a Japanese video game development and publishing company based in Tokyo. Founded by Naotoshi Zin in November 1986, the company developed business software before releasing their first video game, ''King's Field (video game), King's Field'', for the PlayStation (console), PlayStation in 1994. RPG Maker, known in Japan as , is a series of programs for the development of role-playing video games (RPGs) with story-driven elements, created by the Japanese group ASCII, succeeded by Enterbrain. The Japanese name, ''Tsukūru'', is a pun mixing the Japanese word ''tsukuru'' (作る), means "make" or "create", with ''tsūru'' (ツール), the Japanese transcription of the English word "tool". The RPG Maker series was originally released primarily in Japan, but people started to translate and release the software illegally in China, Taiwan, South Korea, Russia, and North America with RPG Maker 2000 and RPG Maker 2003. ''Raw Danger!'', known in Japan as is an action adventure survival game for the PlayStation 2. It was released on March 30, 2006 in Japan by Irem, and later internationally in 2007 by Agetec and 505 Games. The game follows six characters as they try to escape a city that is being flooded by torrential rains. The game is a sequel to ''Disaster Report''. Like the previous game in the series, ''Raw Danger'' was modified for the North American release. ''Echo Night'' is a trilogy of Japanese adventure games developed by FromSoftware. The original ''Echo Night'' was first released in 1998 for the PlayStation. Two sequels were developed; '' Echo Night 2: The Lord of Nightmares'' for the PlayStation in Japan in 1999, and '' Echo Night: Beyond'' for the PlayStation 2 which released worldwide between 2004 and 2006. ''Fighter Maker'' is a series of games for PlayStation consoles and Microsoft Windows. It features a robust character creation system, letting players even create animations. There are two versions of the games, ''Fighter Maker'' (''FM'' series) and ''2D Fighter Maker'' (''2DFM'' series). is a 1998 role playing video game developed by FromSoftware for the PlayStation. The game was originally released in Japan on June 25, 1998 and in North America on November 19, 1999. In North America, the game was published by Agetec. ''Shadow Tower'' shares many similarities with the ''King's Field'' series of video games. A sequel, ''Shadow Tower Abyss'', was released for the PlayStation 2 exclusively in Japan. Gameplay ''Shadow Tower'' is an action-oriented dungeon crawl very similar to ''King's Field''. It features a first person style of gameplay where the player engages in combat with enemies, searches for hidden items and traps, and interacts with NPCs. The game deals with the characters' survival and escape from the slow collapse of an artificial island.
