Aerocancun was an airline based in Mexico, that operated from 1989 to 1996. Company details Aerocancun was based in Cancún, Quintana Roo, and operated charter flights to cities in the U.S. and Canada, including Miami, New Orleans, New York City, Oakland, Boston, Pittsburgh, Calgary and Edmonton. Aerocancun also operated flights to Europe, but these were canceled in 1994 due to financial problems caused by an economic recession. Oasis Airlines
Oasis Airlines was a charter airline based in Spain. History In 1986 a new airline was established in Spain under the name Andalusair and in 1987 the Oasis hotel group took over the airline and since operations were not going well, the renamed the airline Oasis and operations began using MD-83 aircraft on charter flights from the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, and other points in Europe to Spain. Shortly afterwards, the Oasis group bought Aerocancun and the Airbus A310-300 was introduced and used by both Oasis Airlines and Aerocancun. By 1992 more MD-83s and MD-82 were acquired and operations expanded. During the 1990s the Oasis group invested in other airlines, such as Aerovaradero and Private Jet Expeditions while the charter traffic increased. Cancun International Airport ( es, Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún) is located in Cancún, Quintana Roo, on the Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. It is Latin America's third and Mexico's second busiest airport, after Mexico City International Airport. In 2021, Cancún airport handled 22,318,467 passengers, an 82.1% increase compared to 2020. It was produced by the developer company until August 1997 and then by Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
