''The 4th Company'' ( es, La 4ª Compañía) is a 2016 Mexican-Spanish sports crime drama film directed by Mitzi Vanessa Arreola and Amir Galván Cervera. The film was named on the shortlist for Mexico's entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards but it was not selected. ''The 4th Company'' won the Ariel Award for Best Picture at the 59th Ariel Awards. Netflix distributed the film from 6 April 2018, but it subsequently departed the service in April 2021. ''Güeros'' is a 2014 Mexican road comedy-drama film directed by Alonso Ruizpalacios. Set in Mexico City in 1999, the film tells the story of three restless teenagers searching for a folk-rocker during the Mexican capital's student strike. The film won five Ariel Awards, including Best Picture in 2015. Plot In the opening scene, a young mother takes her crying infant outside in a stroller, only to be hit by a water balloon dropped by Tomas from the rooftop of the apartment building. The Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL, en, National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature), located in the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, is the Mexican institution in charge of coordinating artistic and cultural activities (both at the political and the educational level) in the country. The Ariel Award ( es, Premio Ariel) is an award that recognizes the best of Mexican cinema. Given annually, since 1946, by the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC), the award recognizes artistical and technical excellence in the Mexican film industry. Ariel Award For Best Actor
The Ariel Award for Best Actor (Spanish: Premio Ariel a Mejor Actor) is an award presented by the Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (AMACC) in Mexico. It is given in honor of an actor who has delivered an outstanding performance in a leading role while working within the Mexican film industry. In 1947, the 1st and 2nd Ariel Awards were held, with Domingo Soler and David Silva winning for the films ''La Barraca'' and ''Campeón Sin Corona'', respectively. With the exception of the years 1959 to 1971, when the Ariel Awards were suspended, the award has been given annually. The 59th Ariel Awards ceremony, organized by the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences (AMACC) took place on July 11, 2017, at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.
