Malacca
Malacca ( ms, Melaka) is a state in Malaysia located in the southern region of the Malay Peninsula, next to the Strait of Malacca. Channel i was a Singaporean English language free-to-air terrestrial television channel that was launched on 20 May 2001 as TVWorks. The channel was owned by SPH MediaWorks, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings. As a result of the media merger with Mediacorp, it shut down due to low ratings and lack of advertiser support. All Channel i shows officially moved to Channel 5. Its frequencies (terrestrial and cable) and channel space were taken over by Okto (using Central's old format) nearly four years later. Sharon Au (; born 13 August 1975) is a Singaporean former actress and host. Having joined the TCS during the mid-1990s, she won many awards as an artiste with MediaCorp before taking a sabbatical to pursue university education in 2005 on a scholarship.
