Adelene Wee
Adelene Wee (born 1965) is a retired Singaporean bowling champion. She was the youngest winner, and the first Singaporean person to win the title of World Champion at the World Games. Biography Wee was born in 1965 to a large family with six other brothers and sisters. Wee started bowling at age 12. Her father and two of her brothers were also bowlers and they took her with them to the bowling alley. Wee at fifteen, was the youngest gold medal winner of the Philippines Women's Open Masters in 1981. The next year, she broke the world record for six-game singles in ten-pin bowling at the Sukhumvit Open and won the Singapore International Bowling Championships. In June 1985, she won three gold medals at the Asian FIQ youth championships. Wee and Al Dy were the two athletes sent to compete in bowling from Singapore at the 1985 World Games. World Games
The World Games are an international multi-sport event comprising sports and sporting disciplines that are not contested in the Olympic Games. They are usually held every four years, one year after a Summer Olympic Games, over the course of 11 days. The World Games are governed by the International World Games Association, under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. In the most recent editions, between 25 and 34 sports have been included in the official programme. Bowling
Bowling is a target sport and recreational activity in which a player rolls a ball toward pins (in pin bowling) or another target (in target bowling). 1985 World Games
The 1985 World Games, commonly known as London 1985, were the second edition of the World Games, an international multi-sport event held in London, England. Three main venues were used, the main one being the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. The opening ceremony was held at the Wembley Conference Centre. The master of ceremonies was television commentator Ron Pickering. Competitors were addressed by World Games Association President Dr Un Yong Kim, who told competitors, "the World Games is an innovation that deserves a warm welcome." Straining of the hamstring, also known as a pulled hamstring, is defined as an excessive stretch or tear of muscle fibers and related tissues.
