Giulia Adamo
Giulia Adamo (born in Marsala on 18 May 1949) is an Italian politician, who served as the President of the Province of Trapani from 1998 to 2005, and as the Mayor of Marsala between 2012 and 2014. Biography Early years Giulia Adamo had a classical education before moving on to the Faculty of History and Philosophy at the University of Palermo, where she studied at the Jesuit "Pedro Arrupe Institute", and from which she emerged with a degree. She married the distinguished physician-surgeon Giuseppe Spanò who died young. However, before that happened the marriage produced two daughters, Virginia and Eugenia. She embarked on a teaching career and then, in a competitive process, was promoted to the rank of head teacher. Adam Didur or Adamo Didur (24 December 18747 January 1946) was a famous Polish operatic bass singer. He sang extensively in Europe and had a major career at New York's Metropolitan Opera from 1908 to 1932. Frank Adamo
Frank Adamo (1893–1988) was an American doctor honored for his medical service during World War II. He rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel and was awarded a Legion of Merit medal for his service. Adamo was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. As a pre-teen he went to work rolling cigars. After the cigar strike of 1910, he moved to Chicago and resumed his schooling, eventually enrolling at the Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery. He returned to Tampa in 1919 for his internship and joined the Army Reserve in 1923. Adamo went on active duty in 1940 and served in the Philippines as a surgeon. After the Japanese attack on Battle of Bataan, Bataan, Adamo went to Corregidor, where he treated many casualties. Many patients suffered from gangrene. Amputation was the accepted treatment, but Adamo knew that the gangrene bacillus could not survive if exposed to oxygen, so he tried opening the wounds and applying sulfa drugs, irrigating hourly with hydrogen peroxide. Matteo Marchisano-Adamo (born February 19, 1973) is an American filmmaker, sound designer, film editor, composer. He was born in Flint, Michigan. Biography Matteo Marchisano-Adamo's mother is Sicilian and his father is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a child he studied ballet, eventually being offered a scholarship to study in New York City, which was never pursued. Marchisano-Adamo also played the violin as a child. As a teenager he studied piano with the Brazilian pianist Caio Pagano. From 1991-1995 Marchisano-Adamo studied music at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary with Ferenc Rados and Balázs Szokolay. Adamo Boari (22 October 1863 – 24 February 1928) was an Italian Art Nouveau and Art Deco civil engineer and architect, he had a very active career in Mexico and he is known for the construction of notable Historicist architectural works in this country. Life Boari was born in Ferrara. He studied at the University of Ferrara and afterwards at the University of Bologna where he graduated in 1886.
