Adam Leonard (singer-songwriter)
Adam Leonard is an English singer-songwriter working mainly in the folk, psychedelic and electronic music fields. His style is often described as lo-fi and the subject matter of his songs somewhat unconventional. Since his debut album ''How Music Sounds'' in 2003, he has released many EPs, albums and mini-albums on various small labels. Live performances, which have so far been limited to the UK (Manchester, London and Northern Ireland) are as intriguing as they are rare. In 2008 he opened for British folk musician Steve Ashley. He regularly collaborates with other musicians, most notably Pat Gubler ( P.G. Six), Ashley Cooke (Pulco), Gareth Davies, and Steven Collins of The Owl Service, a band for which Leonard provided vocals for their 2010 album ''The View From A Hill''. Nick Harper
Nick Harper (born 22 June 1965) is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. He is the son of English folk musician Roy Harper. Early life Harper was born in London, England, to the folk singer-songwriter Roy Harper. Nick tells of how he remembers a continual procession through the Harper household of his father's famous friends, including not only 'folk/acoustic' artists such as Davy Graham, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Jackson C. Frank, Sandy Denny and Paul Simon but also rock musicians such as Keith Moon, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, David Gilmour and others. Luke Haines
Luke Michael Haines (born 7 October 1967) is an English musician, songwriter and author. He has recorded music under various names and with various bands, including The Auteurs, Baader Meinhof and Black Box Recorder. Career ''New Wave'' Haines formed numerous bands when he was at school. At college he joined The Servants who recorded two commercially unsuccessful albums. It was only when Haines formed The Auteurs with Glenn Collins and girlfriend Alice Readman, who had also been drafted into The Servants on occasion, in 1991, that he began to achieve some success. Regular gigging in London and an ''NME''-sponsored gig brought them to the attention of Hut Records. Peter Gabriel
Peter Brian Gabriel (born 13 February 1950) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and activist. He rose to fame as the original lead singer of the progressive rock band Genesis. After leaving Genesis in 1975, he launched a successful solo career with "Solsbury Hill" as his first single. Bentley Rhythm Ace (BRA) are a British electronic music duo formed in Birmingham in 1995, consisting of Mike Stokes and Richard March. Career The band was formed in Birmingham by Richard March, formerly with the group Pop Will Eat Itself, and Mike Stokes formerly with Bugweed Centipede, with guest appearances by James Atkin, a member of indie band EMF. Le Galaxie were an electronic music band based in Dublin, Ireland. Their debut album ''Laserdisc Nights II'' was released in 2011, followed in 2012 by ''Fade to Forever EP'' and the single "Love System", which was nominated for the Choice Music Prize 'Song of the Year' They announced the end of the band via Twitter in December 2019. Northern Ireland Music Prize
The Northern Ireland Music Prize awards are the Northern Irish awards for musicians who are friends with the organisers. It is produced by the Oh Yeah Music Centre, and is supported by Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Phonographic Performance Limited. Started in 2013, it was "aimed at recognising the great wealth of recorded music from Northern Ireland." In 2020, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was broadcast online. A shortlist of 14 albums is created each year by an academy of professionals from the Northern Irish music industry. The prize winner would be selected by a "panel of experts" and announced at a ceremony in Belfast’s Mandela Hall. BBC Radio 6 Music is a British digital radio station owned and operated by the BBC, specialising primarily in alternative music.
