Adam G. Hinds
Adam G. Hinds is an American politician. He currently serves as a State Senator in the Massachusetts Senate representing the district of Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden. Hinds previously worked for the United Nations in the Middle East. Career United States Congressman John Olver After college, Hinds was Field Director for US Congressman John Olver’s 1998 re-election campaign in the 1st Congressional District of Massachusetts. Hinds spent time volunteering in India before returning as Campaign Director for Congressman Olver during 2000. Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin, and Hampden is a district of the Massachusetts Senate since 2013. It covers an area of 1,529.5 square miles across the expanse of Berkshire, Hampshire, Hampden and Franklin counties. Democrat Adam Hinds of Pittsfield has represented the district since 2017. Hinds is running unopposed for re-election in the 2020 Massachusetts general election. The current district geographic boundary overlaps with those of the Massachusetts House of Representatives' 1st Berkshire, 2nd Berkshire, 3rd Berkshire, 4th Berkshire, 1st Franklin, and 1st Hampshire districts. The Massachusetts Senate is the upper house of the Massachusetts General Court, the bicameral state legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Senate comprises 40 elected members from 40 single-member senatorial districts in the state. OPCW-UN Joint Mission In Syria
The OPCW-UN Joint Mission in Syria was jointly established on 16 October 2013 by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the United Nations (UN) to oversee the elimination of the Syrian chemical weapons program. The Joint Mission continued the work of the OPCW-UN advance team that had arrived in Damascus on 1 October 2013. On 7 October 2013, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stated that the Joint Mission would eventually have about 100 personnel in Syria, with a support base in Cyprus. In a letter to the Security Council, Ban set out the mission's three phases: establish an initial presence and verify Syria's stockpiles declaration; oversee chemical weapons destruction; and verify destruction of all chemical arms related materials and programs. The Arab Spring ( ar, الربيع العربي) was a series of Nonviolent resistance, anti-government protests, Rebellion, uprisings and Insurgency, armed rebellions that spread across much of the Arab world in the early 2010s. It began in Tunisian Revolution, Tunisia in response to corruption and economic stagnation. From Tunisia, the protests then spread to five other countries: Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Syria and Bahrain. Kofi Annan
Kofi Atta Annan (; 8 April 193818 August 2018) was a Ghanaian diplomat who served as the seventh secretary-general of the United Nations from 1997 to 2006. Annan and the UN were the co-recipients of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize. He was the founder and chairman of the Kofi Annan Foundation, as well as chairman of The Elders, an international organisation founded by Nelson Mandela.
