Adam Eriksen
Adam Emanuel Eriksen (September 17, 1852 – July 19, 1931) was a Norwegian painter, photographer, film director, and screenwriter. Family Eriksen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), the son of the watchmaker Henrik Erichsen (1825–1870) and Emilie Kathrine Christoffersen (1825–1902). He was the brother of the politician, newspaper editor, and writer Alfred Eriksen and the uncle of the journalist and author Solvejg Eriksen. He married Olea Pedersen in 1880. Career For a while, Eriksen operated the Cordial Cinema in Kristiania (now Oslo). In 1912 he directed the film ''Anny – en gatepiges roman'', which he also wrote the screenplay for. This was his only film. Eriksen died in Stabekk in 1931, and he was buried at Our Savior's Cemetery in Oslo. Stabekk is a suburban centre in the municipality of Bærum, Norway, west of Oslo. It is predominantly a residential area, with many residents commuting to Oslo. As of 2005 the population was 6,261. Cemetery Of Our Saviour
The Cemetery of Our Saviour ( no, Vår Frelsers gravlund) is a cemetery in Oslo, Norway, located north of Hammersborg in Gamle Aker district. It is located adjacent to the older Old Aker Cemetery and was created in 1808 as a result of the great famine and cholera epidemic of the Napoleonic Wars. Its grounds were extended in 1911. The cemetery has been full and thus closed for new graves since 1952, with interment only being allowed in existing family graves. The cemetery includes five sections, including ''Æreslunden'', Norway's main honorary burial ground, and the western, southern, eastern and northern sections. The Cemetery of Our Saviour became the preferred cemetery of bourgeois and other upper-class families. It has many grand tombstones and is the most famous cemetery in Norway. Alfred Eriksen
Alfred Eriksen (nicknamed "Karlsøypresten", 30 August 1864 – 4 May 1934) was a Norwegian priest, politician, newspaper editor and non-fiction writer. Personal life He was born as Alfred Eriksen in Christiania as the son of the watchmaker Henrik Erichsen (1825–1870) and Emilie Kathrine Christoffersen (1825–1902). He married the vicar's daughter Sigrid Marie Wexelsen (1866–1960) in August 1890. He was the brother of the painter and film director Adam Eriksen, and the father of the journalist and author Solvejg Eriksen. Career Eriksen finished his secondary education at Kristiania Cathedral School in 1883. He then studied theology, graduating with the cand.theol. degree in theology in 1888. After working one year as a teacher in Ålesund he was appointer vicar in Karlsøy in 1891, and held this position until 1910, when he became vicar in Vålerengen Church. Solvejg Eriksen
Solvejg Marie Wexelsen Eriksen (August 9, 1903 – August 10, 1993) was a Norwegian journalist, author, translator, and women's rights activist. Life Eriksen was born in Karlsøy, Norway, the daughter of the prominent priest, politician, and Riksmål advocate Alfred Eriksen, also known as "the Karlsøy priest" (''Karlsøypresten''), and his wife Sigrid Marie née Wexelsen. She was the niece of the painter and film director Adam Eriksen. In the 1930s, Eriksen worked as a journalist for the newspaper ''Tidens Tegn'', and after the Second World War she wrote for the newspaper ''Morgenposten''. She was also a film reviewer. She wrote and translated several books from various genres, and she authored plays for the stage and screenplays.
