Adam Davies (footballer, Born 1987)
Adam Davies (born 27 March 1987) is an English-born former Welsh association football, footballer who played for Cambridge United F.C., Cambridge United and the Wales national under-21 football team. Davies began his career as a schoolboy at Peterborough United F.C., Peterborough United before switching to Cambridge as a trainee. He made his first team debut, while still a trainee, on 29 August 2004 when he replaced Stevland Angus as a second-half substitute in Cambridge's 1–0 win away to Boston United F.C., Boston United in the Football League Trophy. His league debut came on 10 September 2004 when he replaced Justin Walker (footballer), Justin Walker as a late substitute in the 1–0 win at home to Bristol Rovers F.C., Bristol Rovers. He made one further league appearance, again as a substitute, as Cambridge struggled in the league and were eventually relegated to the Conference at the end of the season. Adam Rhys Davies (born 17 July 1992) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as goalkeeper for club Sheffield United. Born in Germany, he represents the Wales national team. Davies began his career with Sheffield Wednesday after previously playing in the Everton Academy. He did not make any appearances for Wednesday and left for Barnsley in June 2014. At Oakwell Davies experienced promotion from League One in 2015–16, relegation from the Championship in 2017–18 and promotion again in 2018–19. In June 2019 Davies joined Stoke City. Adam James Davies (born 26 October 1980) is a Welsh cricketer. Davies is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium-fast. He was born in Cardiff, Glamorgan. Davies played a single Minor Counties Championship match for Wales Minor Counties in 1999 against Cornwall. From 1999 to 2003, Davies played a number of Second XI matches for the Glamorgan Second XI, before playing his only List A match, which came for Wales Minor Counties against Nottinghamshire in the 2005 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy. In the match he scored 17 runs and took 2 wickets for the cost of 24 runs from 6 overs. His father, Hugh, played first-class cricket for Glamorgan from 1955 to 1960. Adam Davies is an English former professional snooker player. He is the brother of fellow snooker player Alex Davies. Career Davies competed as an amateur in his early teens before reaching the last 32, at three Challenge Tour events in the 2003/2004 season. These performances, coupled with a run to the last 128 at the 2004 World Championship, earned him a place on the professional tour for the following two seasons. In his first season, as a professional, Davies won four matches, defeating Darren Morgan in the 2004 British Open, Paul Davies in the 2005 Welsh Open, Simon Bedford in the 2005 China Open and, latterly, the former world number six Mike Hallett 10–5 in the World Championship. However, he did not progress beyond the last 80 at any event, and earned no prize money.
