Ada Rusowicz
Adrianna Rusowicz (8 September 1944 – 1 January 1991), known professionally as Ada Rusowicz, was a Polish singer, the vocalist of the band Niebiesko-Czarni. Biography Rusowicz was born on 8 September 1944 in Vilnius, but spent her childhood in Dzierzgoń. In 1962 she graduated from high school in the School Complex in Sztum. Then, in Olsztyn, she started teaching as a teacher, at the same time she became interested in music and started working with student music groups. In 1963, she won a distinction at the 2nd Festival of Young Talents in Szczecin, and the following year she auditioned for Czesław Niemen's choir Błękitne Pończochy (or Blue Stockings), which accompanied the band Niebiesko-Czarni. In 1968, Rusowicz won the title of the most popular singer of the year. In the years 1968–1970, together with Niebiesko-Czarni, she gave concerts in France, Belgium, Yugoslavia, Finland and West Germany. Big-beat (also called big beat, or bigbit) was a 1960s music scene made up of rock and roll, jazz, and twist groups in Eastern Bloc countries. The term was coined as the name "rock and roll" was not approved by authorities in these nations. Background Genres of American origin, such as jazz, twist, and especially rock and roll were banned or at least hardly tolerated in Eastern Bloc countries in the mid-20th century. Such music was considered to be an element of American imperialism. Despite the official attitude, a number of jazz bands formed in the Eastern Bloc. Dzierzgoń (formerly also: ''Kiszpork''; ) is a town in the Pomeranian Voivodeship in northern Poland. It is located in Sztum County east of Malbork and south of Elbląg on the river Dzierzgoń. Anna Sandra Rusowicz (born 28 March 1983) is a Polish singer. From 2005 to 2007, Rusowicz was the vocalist of the band Dezire, with whom she released a studio album entitled ''Pięć smaków'' (2005). From 2009 to 2011, she was the vocalist of the band IKA, which she founded with her husband, Hubert Gasiul.
