Acurauá River
The Acurauá River ( pt, Rio Acurauá is a river of Acre and Amazonas states in western Brazil. It is a tributary of the Tarauacá River. Course The river rises in the west of the state of Acre and runs in a northeast direction. After being crossed by the BR-364 highway it forms the eastern boundary of the Rio Gregório State Forest, a sustainable use conservation unit created in 2004. Tarauacá River ( pt, Rio Tarauacá is a river of Amazonas and Acre states in western Brazil. The ''Rio Tarauacá'' is a tributary of the Juruá River, which itself flows into the Amazon. Acre () is a state located in the west of the North Region of Brazil and the Amazonia Legal. Located in the westernmost part of the country, at a two-hour time difference from Brasília, Acre is bordered clockwise by the Brazilian states of Amazonas and Rondônia to the north and east, the Bolivian department of Pando to the southeast, and the Peruvian regions of Madre de Dios, Ucayali and Loreto to the south and west. BR-364
BR-364 is an inter-state highway in Brazil connecting the southeast state of São Paulo to the western state of Acre. The highway was opened in the 1960s and paved in the 1980s. It has brought economic development and population growth in the Amazon basin states of Rondônia and Acre. It has also caused massive environmental damage and socio-economic impacts. The road is extremely important for the flow of agricultural and livestock production in the states of Rondônia, Mato Grosso and Goiás, for Brazilian domestic consumption and for export, mainly by Port of Santos.
