Achilleas Agrou
Achilleas Agrou (official name "Achilleas Agrou Athletic Club") is a sports association of the Agros Community in the Limassol District. It was founded on 8 May 1958 in the village of Agrou by village residents, as a cultural group, with the first official football section, with the aim of spreading the sports to the community. Today, the club has a basketball team that participates in the Division B, as well as teams of Teenagers (U19) and children (U16) participating in the Cyprus Basketball Federation championships. During the period 2014–2015 the basketball team re-opened and managed to reach the final of the championship, where it lost from the Anagennisi Germasogeias. Cyprus Basketball Division B
The Cypriot Basketball Division B is currently the second-tier level men's professional basketball competition of the Cypriot basketball league system. It is run and governed by the Cyprus Basketball Federation. Format At present, eight clubs compete in the league. One team (the last one) at the end of the season is promoted to the first division, whilst one team from the first division is relegated. Agros, Cyprus
Agros ( el, Αγρός) is a village built on the Troödos Mountains, in the region of Pitsilia, in southwest Cyprus, which has built amphitheatrically among high mountains at an altitude of 1100 metres with a population of approximately 1,000. Agros is one of the most interesting villages of Cyprus and the Pitsilia area. The village is located 45 minutes away from the cities of Nicosia and Limassol, 20 minutes from Troodos Square and 80 minutes from the international airports of Larnaca and Paphos. Limassol District
Limassol District () or Lemesos ( el, Λεμεσός) is one of the six districts of Cyprus. , it had a population of 239,842, 77% of which was urban. Its main city is Limassol. Cyprus Basketball Division A
The Cypriot Basketball Division A is currently the top-tier level men's professional basketball competition of the Cypriot basketball league system. It is run and governed by the Cyprus Basketball Federation. Format At present, six clubs compete in the league. Since the 2016–17 season, the six teams play each other four times during the regular season, with the top 4 teams reaching the play-off semi-finals stage. One team (the last one) at the end of the season is relegated to the second division, whilst one team from the second division is promoted. The play-off semi-finals and the championship winner will be decided after three wins. The championship winner, along with the winners of the Cypriot Cup, will qualify to compete in the next season's FIBA's European-wide continental competitions. The Cypriot Basketball Cup is an annual professional basketball national cup competition, organized by the Cyprus Basketball Federation since 1969. Format Starting in 2007, the Cypriot Cup competition's format changed to where only teams from the Cyprus Basketball Division A, Cypriot A Division compete at the cup. The cup employs a knock-out stage and a final four format. The Cup's winner automatically qualifies to compete in the next season of the FIBA Europe Cup competition.
