The Accademia di Belle Arti di Macerata is an academy of fine arts located in Macerata, Italy. It was founded in 1972. Initially, the Accademia was located in the Palazzo Buonaccorsi. Macerata
Macerata () is a city and ''comune'' in central Italy, the county seat of the province of Macerata in the Marche region. It has a population of about 41,564. History The historical city centre is on a hill between the Chienti and Potenza rivers. It first consisted of the Picenes city named Ricina (''Helvia Recina''), then, after its romanization, Recina and Helvia Recina. After the destruction of Helvia Recina by the barbarians, the inhabitants took shelter in the hills and eventually began to rebuild the city, first on the top of the hills, before descending again later and expanding. The newly rebuilt town was Macerata. Palazzo Buonaccorsi
The Palazzo Buonaccorsi is an 18th-century aristocratic palace, now the civic museum of the town, located on Via Don Minzoni 24 in the historic center of Macerata, region of Marche, Italy. Description The palace was erected on a site with some houses just inside the former medieval city walls. The Buonaccorsi family, led by Simone the Elder had risen to prominence by the mid-17th century; Simone's brother Buonaccorso (1620-1678) had become a cardinal. Simone endeavored to build a palace here, commensurate with the family's rising status. After the Simone's death in 1708, his son Raimondo continued the project, aided by his brother Filippo, Abbott of San Quirico, and employing the designs of the architects Giovanni Battista Contini and Ludovico Gregorini. 1997 Umbria And Marche Earthquake
The 1997 Umbria and Marche earthquake occurred in the regions of Umbria and Marche, central Italy on the morning of September 26. It was preceded by a foreshock almost as strong as the main quake. The foreshock occurred at 02:33 CEST (00:33 UTC), rated , and the second – the main shock – occurred at 11:40 CEST (09:40 UTC), rated . Their epicentre was in Annifo. The mainshock was assigned X (''Extreme'') and foreshock VIII (''Severe'') on the Mercalli intensity scale. There were several thousands of foreshocks and aftershocks from May 1997 to April 1998, more than thirty of which had a magnitude more than 3.5. Remo Brindisi
Remo Brindisi (25 April 1918 – 25 July 1996) was an Italian painter. Biography Born in Rome, Brindisi was trained by his father, a skilled wood carver, in Pescara and L'Aquila. Having attended the Experimental Centre of Stage Design in Rome for a short period during 1935, he obtained a grant to study at the Institute of Book Decoration and Illustration in Urbino, where he specialized in graphic art and printmaking and served a professional apprenticeship as an illustrator. He came into contact with Ardengo Soffici and Ottone Rosai in Florence in 1940 and held his first solo show there, with a presentation by Eugenio Montale. The period from 1943 to 1946, which he spent in Venice, saw the start of large-scale involvement in exhibitions and constant participation in the Rome Quadrennial and the Venice Biennial as well as connections with the major private galleries of Milan and Venice.
