Contralmirante Villar Province
Contralmirante Villar is a province of the Tumbes Region in Peru. Its capital is the town of Zorritos. The Cerros de Amotape National Park is located in this province, which is the largest in the Tumbes Region. Tumbes () is a coastal department and region in northwestern Peru bordering Ecuador. Due to the region's location near the Equator it has a warm climate, with beaches that are considered among the finest in Peru. Despite its small area, the region contains a wide variety of ecosystems. It is the smallest department in Peru and its third least populous department after Moquegua and Madre de Dios, but it is also its third most densely populated department, after La Libertad and Lambayeque. The name "Tumbes" originates from either ''Tumpis'', a group of native peoples from the area, the word ''tumbos'', a species of Passiflora that used to abound in the area, or the name of the Tumba cacique, whose son founded and populated the area. 2017 Peru Census
The 2017 Peru Census was a detailed enumeration and twelfth national population census of Peru. It was conducted by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática on Sunday, October 22, 2017. Its full name in Spanish is XII Censo de Población, VII de Vivienda y III de Comunidades Indígenas. The previous census performed in Peru was the 2007 Census. Questions The census form had 47 questions referring to households and basic services, housing, methods of travel and formation of families; such as gender, disability and ethnicity. The Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática (INEI) ("National Institute of Statistics and Informatics") is a semi-autonomous Peruvian government agency which coordinates, compiles, and evaluates statistical information for the country. Its current director is Renán Quispe Llanos. As stated on its website, the INEI eases decision-making with the help of quality statistical information and the use of information technology and thus helps develop the society. Censuses The latest census performed by the INEI is the 2017 Census, which was conducted from August 22 through November 5 of that year.
