Abubakar Habu Hashidu
Alhaji Abubakar Habu Hashidu (10 April 1944 – 27 July 2018) was a Nigerian politician and former governor of Gombe State, Nigeria under the platform of All People's Party (APP) from May 1999 to May 2003. Hashidu was the minister of Water Resources as well as a minister of Agriculture and Rural Development during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida. He was also a member of the Vision 2010 committee set up by General Sani Abacha to chart a developmental road-map for the country. Hashidu was the first elected governor of Gombe State, Nigeria, taking office on 29 May 1999, on the platform of the All People's Party (APP). His Deputy Governor was Joshua Lidani. In January 2003 the All Nigeria Peoples Party endorsed Hashidu as its gubernatorial candidate for the April 2003 elections. Mohammed Bawa
Mohammed Inua Bawa (6 April 1954 – 26 May 2017) was appointed the Administrator of Ekiti State, Nigeria during the military regime of General Sani Abacha. He was then appointed Administrator of Gombe State from August 1998 to May 1999, handing over to the elected civilian governor at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic. Background Bawa was born on 6 April 1954 in Yauri, Kebbi State. He studied at Government Colleges in Keffi and Bida, then attended the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria after which he studied at the University of Madras, India. Joining the army, he was commissioned as second lieutenant in 1976, full lieutenant in 1980, captain in 1985 and major in 1990. Sani Abacha (20 September 1943 – 8 June 1998) was a Nigerian military officer and politician who ruled as the military head of state of Nigeria from 1993 until his death in 1998. He seized power on 17 November 1993 in the last successful coup d'etat in the military history of Nigeria.
