Abu Azrael
Ayoub Falih Hasan Al-Raie ( ar, أيوب فالح حسن لراعي), born 1978, known by his nom de guerre Abu Azrael, also known as the Angel of Death, is an Iraqi Commander in the popular crowd of the Kataib al-Imam Ali, an Iraqi Shi'a militia group of the Popular Mobilization Forces that is fighting ISIS in Iraq. He has become a public icon of resisting ISIS in Iraq among Shia Iraqis with a large following on social media. His motto and catchphrase is "Ella Tahin", literally meaning "Until/into dust" interpreted to mean "Grind you to dust." Abu Azrael was a former member in Muqtada al-Sadr's Mahdi Army which fought against the U.S./Coalition forces during the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. Sadr City
Sadr City ( ar, مدينة الصدر, translit=Madīnat aṣ-Ṣadr), formerly known as Al-Thawra ( ar, الثورة, aṯ-Ṯawra) and Saddam City ( ar, مدينة صدام, Madīnat Ṣaddām), is a suburb district of the city of Baghdad, Iraq. Shia Islam in Iraq ( ar, الشيعة في العراق) has a history going back to the times of Ali ibn Abi Talib, the first imam of Shia Islam and fourth caliph of Sunni Islam who moved the capital of the early caliphate from Medina to Kufa (or Najaf) two decades after the death of Muhammad. Azrael
Azrael (; , 'God has helped'; ) is the angel of death in some Abrahamic religions, namely Islam, Christian popular culture and some traditions of Judaism. He is also referenced in Sikhism. Relative to similar concepts of such beings, Azrael holds a rather benevolent role as God's angel of death; he acts as a psychopomp, responsible for transporting the souls of the deceased after their death. Salam Jassem Hussein
Salam Jassem Hussein al-Obeidi (aka Major Salam, b: 1979) is an Iraqi officer who received media appraisal during the second Iraqi civil war and the Second battle of Mosul (2016-2017). Salam Hussein is now Colonel. Early life Salam Jassem Hussein studied linguistics at university, studying English and Hebrew when the 2003 Iraqi war starts. After the defeat of Saddam Hussein, Salam, against his father's wishes, entered the newly formed and Western-sponsored Iraqi army in late 2003. He was assigned to the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Force (ICTF). In 2004, he joined the fighting during the battle of Najaf against Shia militants from the Mahdi army. Abu Tahsin Al-Salhi
Abu Tahsin al-Salihi ( ar, أبو تحسين الصالحي; 1 July 1953 – 29 September 2017) was an Iraqi veteran sniper. A volunteer in the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, he is credited with killing over 384 ISIS members during the War in Iraq (2013–2017), receiving the nicknames "The Sheikh of Snipers" and "Hawk Eye." Before the War in Iraq (2013–2017), al-Salihi fought in the Yom Kippur War, the Iran–Iraq War, the invasion of Kuwait, the Gulf War, and the 2003 US invasion of Iraq. According to al-Salihi, in the Yom Kippur War he was part of an Iraqi brigade fighting on Golan Heights. Around May 2015 al-Salihi joined the Popular Mobilization Forces and was stationed in the Makhoul Mountains in northern Iraq, armed with a Steyr anti materiel rifle. Harith Al-Sudani
Captain Harith Al-Sudani (1981–2017, Arabic: حارث السوداني ) was an Iraqi soldier, spy and war hero in the Iraq–ISIS war. Al-Sudani infiltrated ISIS, becoming a trustee and car-bombs driver, allowing the Iraqi military to neutralize around 30 car-bomb attacks. Al-Sudani have been described as " raqs most successful spy" while operating within the secret intelligence unit called Al Suquor, or the Falcons Intelligence Cell, the counter-terrorism unit leading operations against ISIS.
