Abigail (TV Series)
''Abigail'' is a Venezuelan telenovela that was produced by and seen on Venezuela's Radio Caracas Televisión between 1988 and 1989. It was written by Elizabeth Alezard, Alberto Gómez, Mariana Luján, Amparo Montalva, and María Helena Portas and directed by Tito Rojas. This telenovela lasted 257 episodes and was distributed internationally by RCTV International. Starring Catherine Fulop and Fernando Carrillo. The antagonist is Hilda Abrahamz. Synopsis It tells the story of the capricious Abigail Guzmán ( Catherine Fulop) the only daughter of a wealthy businessman, beautiful and troubled, who falls in love with Professor Carlos Alfredo Ruiz Aponte (Fernando Carrillo) who teaches her literature classes at the San Lázaro school. Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. This makes them shorter than most other television series, but still much longer than a miniseries. Ileana Jacket
Ileana Jacket (also Ileana Jacquet; born 30 January 1947) is a German-born Venezuelan actress. She made her debut in 1982 in the telenovela ''Jugando A Vivir'' playing Briggitte and has since participated in several telenovelas throughout Latin America. Jacket is the mother of actress Sonya Smith. Early life Jacket was born on 30 January 1947 in Leverkusen, Germany. Her father was born to his Finnish mother and French father, while her mother is a German born and raised in Argentina, fluent in Spanish. Jacket already spoke Spanish through her mother, she migrated to Venezuela with her parents. Aside from Spanish and native German, she is fluent in Finnish, French and English. Career In 1983, Jacket joined the cast of ''Leonela'' where she played Miss Raitza. The telenovela was very successful in Venezuela and Latin America. Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV) was a Venezuelan free-to-air television network headquartered in the Caracas neighborhood of Quinta Crespo. It was sometimes referred to as the Canal de Bárcenas. Owned by Empresas 1BC, Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV) was inaugurated on 15 November 1953 by William H. Phelps Jr., William H. Elisa Pérez Rego, better known in music world simply as, Elisa Rego, is a singer, songwriter and radio host. She was born in São Paulo city, Brazil, on 21 May 1964. Since her youth she has been based in Caracas, Venezuela. Her beginnings with ES-3 Elisa Rego started her career in music as a singer in various nightspots in Caracas.
