Aberdeen is an elevated station on the Canada Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. It is located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. It is named after the adjacent Aberdeen Square and Aberdeen Centre, the largest of Richmond's Asian-themed malls. Aberdeen bus station is a bus station in Aberdeen, Scotland. It is operated by Stagecoach Group. History A single central bus station in Aberdeen was first considered in the 1950s, with a site in Upper Denburn selected by W. Alexander & Sons. At the time, there were several bus stations in use in Aberdeen. However, in March 1960, the company announced that it did not intend to develop the Upper Denburn site and had instead selected a site on the grounds of the Joint Railway Station (now Aberdeen railway station). The new bus station opened on 15 April 1963. Redevelopment of the bus station was included in the Union Square project which saw former railway land replaced with retail. Aberdeen station is a train station in Aberdeen, Maryland, on the Northeast Corridor. It is served by Amtrak '' Northeast Regional'' intercity service and MARC Penn Line commuter service. The station has two side platforms serving the outer tracks of the three-track Northeast Corridor, with a station building on the north side of the tracks. History The station was originally built by the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad approximately in 1898, and inherited by the Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington Railroad. The current station is a modern structure built in 1943 by Lester C. Aberdeen station is a former Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O) station in Aberdeen, Maryland. The station was designed by architect Frank Furness, who designed some 40 stations for the B&O in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The station has deteriorated in condition mightily since B&O ended service in 1955, and was almost torn down in 2003. An eleventh hour agreement was made by CSX and the Historical Society of Harford County to save the building. Aberdeen Station (Milwaukee Road)
The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad Depot in Aberdeen, South Dakota was built by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (also known as The Milwaukee Road) in 1911. The depot is rectangular in shape, two stories, and is built of brick and concrete. Its style reflects the Craftsman/Prairie influences of the early 20th century. It was built to replace an earlier wooden depot that burned. Aberdeen served as a division point on the Milwaukee Road and the upper floors of the depot contained railroad offices. In its heyday the station served the Milwaukee Road's '' Olympian Hiawatha,'' which ran from Chicago to Seattle and Tacoma.
