Bruno Erhard Abegg
Bruno Erhard Abegg (17 January 1803 – 16 December 1848) was a Prussian statesman. Abegg was born in Elbing (Elbląg) in West Prussia, where his father was a merchant and Privy TradeCouncil. Beginning in 1822, Abegg studied law at the universities of Heidelberg and Königsberg, and practised in Danzig and Königsberg (now Gdańsk and Kaliningrad, respectively). In 1831, he purchased a manor in Fischhausen (now Primorsk), becoming head of this district on 23 April 1833. He then moved to Königsberg, where he became superintendent of the police. In 1835, he was given the title of Privy Council of the Government in Berlin and sent to Breslau (Wrocław). He became vice president of the ' (Commission of the Fifty) in Frankfurt. Elisabeth Abegg
Luise Wilhelmine Elisabeth Abegg (; 3 March 1882 – 8 August 1974) was a German educator and resistance fighter against Nazism. She provided shelter to around 80 Jews during the Holocaust and was consequently recognised as Righteous Among the Nations. Biography Abegg was born in 1882 in Strasbourg, then a part of Germany, to Johann Friedrich Abegg, a jurist, and Marie Caroline Elisabeth (Rähm) Abegg. In 1912, she enrolled at Leipzig University, where she studied history, classical philology and Romance studies, and graduated with a doctorate in 1916. She moved to Berlin in 1918 when the Alsace region was reclaimed by France. In Berlin, she became involved in postwar relief work organised by the Quaker community. Jimmy Abegg (born December 29, 1954), also known as Jimmy A, is an American musician who grew up in Alliance, Nebraska and is currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1985, Abegg was a founding member of the progressive rock band Vector from Sacramento, California, which included Steve Griffith, Charlie Peacock, Aaron Smith (drums 1985) and Bruce Spencer (drums 1985–89). In the 1990s, he played as a solo musician, then joined Rich Mullins' A Ragamuffin Band and was also a member of Charlie Peacock's Acoustic Trio. He has created a variety of album artwork for artists such as Phil Keaggy, Michael W. Smith, and Chris Taylor among others. Abegg has written or co-written songs for Susan Ashton and Ji Lim. Johann Friedrich Abegg (November 30, 1765 in Roxheim near Kreuznach – December 16, 1840 in Heidelberg) was a German theologian. He was the brother of many siblings in a family of preachers, and was adopted in 1786 as candidate for the preacher office in the Electorate of the Palatinate. He visited the college in Heidelberg from 1789 to 1794 and also worked as extraordinary professor of philology since 1791. In 1794 he started to practise as priest, first in Boxberg, then in Leimen (1799) and Heidelberg (1808) in the parishes St. Peter and Heiliggeist. Beginning in 1807 he was member of the Grand-Ducal Higher Clergy Council of Baden. Julius Friedrich Heinrich Abegg (23 March 1796 – 29 May 1868) was a German criminalist. Life Abegg was born in Erlangen as the son of the Reformed preacher Dr. Johannes Wilhelm Abegg (1768–1806), who later moved to Königsberg in Prussia to become councillor of the consistory, superintendent and later chaplain of the Court. Julius Abegg was educated at the ''Ecole Française'' and the German-Polish College in Königsberg, later at the colleges of Erlangen and Nuremberg. Elisabeth Hermine Abegg (7 December 1901 – 13 July 1974), known as Lily Abegg, was a Swiss journalist who reported on East Asian affairs for several European newspapers from the late 1930s through the mid-1960s and authored multiple books and journal articles from the 1940s through the early 1970s. Richard Wilhelm Heinrich Abegg (9 January 1869 – 3 April 1910) was a German chemist and pioneer of valence theory. He proposed that the difference of the maximum positive and negative valence of an element tends to be eight. This has come to be known as Abegg's rule. He was a gas balloon enthusiast, which caused his death at the age of 41 when he crashed in his balloon in Silesia. Abegg received his PhD on 19 July 1891 as the student of August Wilhelm von Hofmann at the University of Berlin.
