Jimmy Abegg
Jimmy Abegg (born December 29, 1954), also known as Jimmy A, is an American musician who grew up in Alliance, Nebraska and is currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1985, Abegg was a founding member of the progressive rock band Vector from Sacramento, California, which included Steve Griffith, Charlie Peacock, Aaron Smith (drums 1985) and Bruce Spencer (drums 1985–89). In the 1990s, he played as a solo musician, then joined Rich Mullins' A Ragamuffin Band and was also a member of Charlie Peacock's Acoustic Trio. He has created a variety of album artwork for artists such as Phil Keaggy, Michael W. Smith, and Chris Taylor among others. Abegg has written or co-written songs for Susan Ashton and Ji Lim. He completed a series for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Abegg also collaborated with Kevin Max on a collection of illustrated poems entitled ''At the Foot of Heaven'' in 1995. Alliance, Nebraska
Alliance is a city and the county seat of Box Butte County, in the western part of the state of Nebraska, in the Great Plains region of the United States. Its population was 8,151 at the 2020 census. Alliance is the home to Carhenge, a replica of Stonehenge constructed with automobiles, which is located north of the city. It is also the location of Alliance Municipal Airport, the least-used airport in the mainland United States. History The town was originally named Grand Lake. When the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad came to Grand Lake in 1888, the railroad superintendent, G.W. Holdrege, wanted to change it to a simple one-word name closer to the beginning of the alphabet, which he thought would be better for business. ''Wow to the Deadness'' is an EP by Steve Taylor & The Danielson Foil, a temporary collaboration between the supergroup Steve Taylor & The Perfect Foil and Daniel Smith of Danielson. Recorded in 2015 at Electrical Audio in Chicago, Illinois, and produced by Steve Albini, the EP was released on February 5, 2016, through Steve Taylor's Splint Entertainment and Smith's Sounds Familyre Records. Background and recording During the promotional tour for the album ''Goliath'' in 2014, Steve Taylor & The Perfect foil were supported by Danielson. The idea of a collaboration between the two groups emerged, and in June 2015, when the tour came through Chicago, Daniel Smith of Danielson joined Steve Taylor & The Perfect Foil in a collaborative recording effort at Steve Albini's studio Electrical Audio. Steve Taylor & The Perfect Foil is an American alternative rock supergroup (music), supergroup formed in 2010 by singer Steve Taylor with drummer Peter Furler (Newsboys, Peter Furler Band), guitarist Jimmy Abegg (Vector (band), Vector, A Ragamuffin Band), and bassist John Mark Painter (Fleming and John). Taylor formerly saw success as a New wave music, new wave singer during the 1980s and early 1990s, and also fronted the short-lived band Chagall Guevara. However, by the mid-1990s he abandoned performing music and transitioned into work as a record producer, songwriter, and film-maker. A., Dä) is an American Christian rock band formed in 1974 by Terry Scott Taylor on guitars and vocals, Marty Dieckmeyer on bass guitar, Steve Baxter (musician), Steve Baxter on guitars and Jerry Chamberlain on lead guitars. The Jesus Record
The Jesus Record is the ninth and final album by American singer and songwriter Rich Mullins, released posthumously on July 21, 1998, ten months after his death. The first disc of the album, entitled "The Jesus Demos", consists of nine rough demos Mullins recorded for the album in an abandoned church on September 10, 1997, nine days before his death. The songs were meant for a concept album based on the life of Jesus Christ, to be called ''Ten Songs About Jesus''. The second disc was recorded after Mullins' death by a Ragamuffin Band (Rick Elias, Mark Robertson, Jimmy Abegg and Aaron Smith), with guest vocals by Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Ashley Cleveland, and Phil Keaggy. Orchestration for the album, arranged and conducted by Tom Howard, were recorded at London's Abbey Road Studios.
