Abdullahi Bala
Abdullahi Bala (born March 27, 1967) is a Nigerian academic, author and professor of soil science. He is the current and seventh substantive vice-chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Minna, a post he assumed in December 2017. Early life and education Bala was born at Suleja, a local government area of Niger State, Northern Nigeria. He attended Dawaki Primary School at Suleja and Federal Government College, Minna, Niger State where he obtained the West African Senior School Certificate. Thereafter, he obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc degree) in 1989 from the College of Basic Studies, at Ahmadu Bello University. Soil Microbiology
Soil microbiology is the study of microorganisms in soil, their functions, and how they affect soil properties. It is believed that between two and four billion years ago, the first ancient bacteria and microorganisms came about on Earth's oceans. These bacteria could fix nitrogen, in time multiplied, and as a result released oxygen into the atmosphere. This led to more advanced microorganisms, which are important because they affect soil structure and fertility. Suleja
Suleja is a city in Niger State, Nigeria, pop. (2016) local government area, 260,240, just north of Abuja, capital of the Suleja Emirate. It is sometimes confused with the nearby city of Abuja, due to its proximity, and the fact that it was originally called Abuja before the Nigerian government adopted the name from the then Emir Sulayman Bal for its new federal capital in 1976. It was established in the early 19th century by Mohammed Makau, the last Hausa emir of Zaria and his followers who were fleeing the Fulani jihadists engaged in the conquest of northern Nigeria. Niger State
Niger is a state in the North Central region of Nigeria and the largest state in the country. Niger state has three political zones, zone A,B and C. The state's capital is at Minna. Other major cities are Bida, Kontagora and Suleja. It was formed in 1976 when the then North-Western State was divided into Niger State and Sokoto State. West African Senior School Certificate Examination
The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is a type of standardized test in West Africa. Students who pass the exam receive a certificate confirming their graduation from secondary education. It is administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). It is only offered to candidates residing in Anglophone West African countries.
