Bala assumed office as the seventh Vice-chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Minna on December 3, 2017. He was a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics (2012) at the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
[ Bala promised in his inaugural speech that his administration will take decisions that are in the best interest of the University. He said the administration would be guided by three cardinal principles; obeying the status and laws of the university, good governance and best global practices.]
