Abdullahi Abubakar Gumel
Senator Abdullahi Abubakar Gumel (born 20 April 1979) is a Nigerian politician and member of the 8th National Assembly from Jigawa State. He represented Jigawa North West Senatorial District. In the Senate, he is the chairman Senate Committee on States and Local Government. Early life and education Abdullahi Abubakar Gumel was born on April 20, 1949, and he is native of Maigatari LGA of Jigawa State. He holds a master's degree in public policy and administration from the Bayero University Kano, Kano State. But before that, he attended Kaduna Polytechnics Kaduna, Kaduna State where he obtained his national diploma in accountancy before proceeding to Bayero University Kano, where he obtained advance diploma in public administration and post graduate diploma in public policy and administration. All Progressives Congress
The All Progressives Congress (APC) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Founded on 6 February 2013 from a merger of Nigeria's three largest opposition parties, the party came to power following the victory of party candidate Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential election. Dr. Danladi Abdullahi Sankara (born 25 November 1954) is a Nigerian politician who is Senator for the Jigawa North-West constituency of Jigawa State, Nigeria. Danladi is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Early political career In November 2001, Danladi was the National ''Ex Officio'' member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Chairman of the Elders Committee of the Party in Jigawa State. Sankara was a contender for the 2003 Senatorial seat on the PDP platform, but was defeated by Dalha Danzomo of the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP) -- who was supported by the Jigawa State Governor, then ANPP member Alhaji Saminu Turaki. Maigatari is a border town located in the Sahel along the Niger-Nigeria border. The town is known for its large market founded in 1870 and trading in horses, camels, cattle and other livestock between Niger, Mali, Chad and Cameroon.
