Abdul Sattar Abdul Nabi
Abdul Sattar Abdul Nabi is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. He was briefly a minister in 2014 in the Congress government in Maharashtra. In 2019 he left Congress and joined Shiv Sena. He is a three term Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Sillod constituency. He served as the state's Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry. Political career Early career In 1984, Sattar successfully contested the Grampanchayat elections. He entered Taluka politics in 1994–95, becoming the Mayor (Nagaradhyaksha) of Sillod city on 5 March 1994. He approached Congress in 1999 to become a candidate for the Legislative Assembly elections, but was unsuccessful. He stood as an independent and finished second. He was elected as the Vidhanparishad MLA of Sillod in 2001. After his term ended as MLA, Abdul Sattar contested the legislative assembly elections of 2004, losing by 301 votes. Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on 30 June 2022, on resignation of his predecessor Uddhav Thackeray. Shinde leads a government consisting of his Shiv Sena party and Bharatiya Janata Party. Formation After the 2019 Maharashtra elections, Shiv Sena broke its pre-poll alliance with BJP. Sillod is a city and a taluka in the Aurangabad District of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Sillod is represented in the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha through the Sillod Vidhan Sabha constituency. A Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is a representative elected by the voters of an electoral district (constituency) to the legislature of State government in the Indian system of government. From each constituency, the people elect one representative who then becomes a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). The Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena () is a Hindu nationalist political party in India formed in 2022 under the leadership of Eknath Shinde. It was allotted a new symbol by the Election Commission, separate from the main Shiv Sena. It is now one of two separate factions, the other being the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray).
