Abdelaziz Ben Tifour
Abdelaziz Ben Tifour ( ar, عبدالعزيز بن طيفور; – ) was a professional French-Algerian footballer who played as a midfielder. Life and career He was a pioneer of Algerian football playing in Tunisia and France in the 40s and 50s as well as establishing the first Algerian national team with two other FLN activists featuring ten players in France's provisional World Cup squad on the eve of the finals in Sweden. One of those players was Ben Tifour himself, who had played for the French national team on four occasions including one appearance at the 1954 World Cup. Born in Hussein-Dey. In the summer of 1948, he moved to Europe to play for French first division club OGC Nice, making his debut in a 1–1 draw with Red Star Paris and by the time Ben Tifour played at the 1954 FIFA World Cup in Switzerland in a 3–2 win over Mexico; he had already won two league titles and a French Cup with OGC Nice. Hussein Dey District
Hussein Dey is a district in Algiers Province, Algeria. It was named after the Ottoman provincial ruler of the Regency of Algiers. He had installed his country house near the beaches of the suburb of Algiers. On the shores of Hussein Dey had failed in 1541 the ships of the fleet of Charles Quint. National Liberation Front (Algeria)
The National Liberation Front ( ar, جبهة التحرير الوطني ''Jabhatu l-Taḥrīri l-Waṭanī''; french: Front de libération nationale, FLN) is a nationalist political party in Algeria. It was the principal nationalist movement during the Algerian War and the sole legal and ruling political party of the Algerian state until other parties were legalised in 1989. The FLN was established in 1954 from a split in the Movement for the Triumph of Democratic Liberties from members of the Special Organisation paramilitary; its armed wing, the National Liberation Army, participated in the Algerian War from 1954 to 1962. Ahmed Oudjani
Ahmed Oudjani (19 March 1937 – 15 January 1998) was an Algerian football striker. Biography Oudjani was a member of the Algerian FLN team before the country gained its independence. He is also the all-time top scorer in RC Lens history, having scored 94 goals in 148 matches for the team, including 6 goals in one game against RC Paris in the 1963/1964 season. He scored 99 career goals in Ligue 1, and was the leading scorer in the 1963–64 French Division 1 with 30 goals. Ahmed is the father of former Algerian international Chérif Oudjani, who scored the winning goal in the final of the 1990 African Cup of Nations. Ahmed's family is of Kabyle origin, and hails from the village of Sidi Aïch in Bejaïa. The Coupe de France, formerly known as the Coupe Charles Simon, is the premier knockout cup competition in French football organized by the French Football Federation (FFF). It was first held in 1917 and is open to all amateur and professional football clubs in France, including clubs based in the overseas departments and territories.
