Abdel-Halim Nowera
Abdel-Halim Nowera (died 1985) was an Egyptian conductor and impresario. In 1967 he founded the Arab Music Company (renamed the Abdel Halim Nowera Ensemble for Arabic Music after his death), a music ensemble dedicated to performing traditional Arab music like muwashshah ''Muwashshah'' ( ar, موشح ' literally means "girdled" in Classical Arabic; plural ' or ' ) is the name for both an Arabic poetic form and a secular musical genre. Conducting
Conducting is the art of directing a musical performance, such as an orchestral or choral concert. An impresario (from the Italian ''impresa'', "an enterprise or undertaking") is a person who organizes and often finances concerts, plays, or operas, performing a role in stage arts that is similar to that of a film or television producer. ''Muwashshah'' ( ar, موشح ' literally means "girdled" in Classical Arabic; plural ' or ' ) is the name for both an Arabic poetic form and a secular musical genre. The poetic form consists of a multi-lined strophic verse poem written in classical Arabic, usually consisting of five stanzas, alternating with a refrain with a running rhyme.
