Abbie Cornett
Abbie Cornett (born August 22, 1966) is a politician from the U.S. state of Nebraska. She served two terms, from 2005 to 2013, as a member of the Nebraska Legislature. Personal life Senator Abbie Cornett was born in Omaha,Nebraska. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and the Nebraska Law Enforcement Academy (1993). She served as a police officer with the City of Omaha for 10 years, before retiring after a service injury, later graduating with a degree in criminal justice from Bellevue University. Cornett resides in Bellevue. She is a member of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, Altrusa, Optimist International, a retired-status member for the Nebraska Association of Women Police and the Fraternal Order of Police, and is a member of the Republican Party. Paul Hartnett
D. Paul Hartnett (known as "Paul Hartnett," 1927 ''or'' 1928 – June 26, 2022) was a member of the Nebraska Legislature for 20 years from 1985 to 2005. Paul Hartnett was raised in Hubbard, Nebraska, on a family farm but left to attend Wayne State College where he pursued a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education. While at Wayne State College, he met and married Marjorie Sheehan in 1951. Hartnett began his career as a teacher, coach, and administrator first at Brunswick, Nebraska, and then back in his hometown of Hubbard. In 1958, Hartnett moved to Bellevue, Nebraska, to serve as an administrator in the Bellevue Public School District. While serving at Bellevue, he pursued a Doctor of Education from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and in 1966 became a professor at Creighton University where he taught for 38 years until retiring in 2004. David City is a city in Butler County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 2,995 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Butler County. David City was founded in 1873 to serve as the county seat when county residents desired a more centrally located county seat than Savannah. Some of the notable buildings, located on E Street, were taken directly from Savannah and planted by Thorton B. Myers; thus, his initials are located at the top of each building: "TB Myers."
